This special guy galloped over the rainbow bridge yesterday. Cruise has been a family member since I was little. He was really my mom's first horse that was just for her that she bought for herself. He was a show pony, a fabulous trail horse, and has lived many happy senior years alongside his best mares eating the greenest grasses and sweetest apples Appalachia has to offer. He was stubborn, and very food motivated and super sweet to those he loved most. See you when we get there Cruise!💛🤍

Where we got our “Roots”

You may notice if you look closely at our logo that the roots of the tree look eerily familiar... That’s because the image was grabbed straight from a physical map of Deep Creek Lake! The “leaves” are an accurate representation of the nearby Savage River State Forest. Our founder, Jade O’Faolean was born and raised right here in McHenry Maryland. Despite years of travel and exploring the great unknown- the shorelines of Deep Creek and the surrounding mountain wonder always drew her back to the place where much like the tall oak trees, she had buried her “roots.” Her great grandfather was one of the original dam builders that turned this magnificent place into the four seasons destination it is today. The studio gazes over the lake in McHenry Cove, and playfully peaks at Wisp resort when the slopes are busy with winter enthusiasts. No matter what season we are enjoying at Deep Creek Lake, “Roots: a Yoga and Movement Studio” will always be a bright and welcoming retreat for locals and tourists alike to unwind and take big delicious breaths of fresh mountain air.
