On March 10, 2015 Mighty Miss Clara's family was given the horrific news that she had a brain tumor and was admitted immediately after the MRI to pediatric intensive care unit at Hershey Medical Center. On March 11, 2015 Mighty Miss Clara underwent brain surgery. Unfortunately the immediate preliminary report was that of cancer cells in the tumor. The following day it was confirmed by a second MRI that the surgeon had gotten all of the tumor. Awaiting the final grading of the tumor cells, Mighty Miss Clara progressed well and was discharged from the hospital. On March 18, 2015 the pathology reports came back. The news no family wants to hear....Mighty Miss Clara is stage 3 ependymoma. Hearts sank and thoughts of why does this happen to such a little girl begin to put the family on that emotional roller coaster ride. Consults are scheduled with a pediatric oncologist to discuss with the family various treatment options and a better knowledge of the prognosis for Mighty Miss Clara. On this date 3/20/2015 is the first of many visits back to Hershey Medical Center. Mighty Miss Clara will have to endure physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, radiation and chemo. Clara's mommy and daddy have a long road ahead of them. Clara has a four month old sister and a 7 year old sister. Daddy will be staying home with Mighty Miss Clara for however long he needs too. There will be many many trips back and forth for therapy and treatment, with the possibility of having to travel to University of PA for the cancer treatments. All fundraising activity for the family will be posted on the page; as well as Mighty Miss Clara's progress through this nightmare. I only wish I would wake up and it be just a dream. I come to all of you and ask that you support the fundraising events for Mighty Miss Clara and her family. If financially you are not able to support the fundraisers....please keep Mighty Miss Clara and her entire family in your thoughts and prayers.
