Cancer research, close to home: Exciting work is underway. April is . For the past several weeks, Dr. Estin Yang, an Asante general surgeon, has presented around the Rogue Valley on the research he’s leading to accelerate diagnosis and treatment of this cancer in rural communities. Few physicians nationwide are conducting this level of in-depth research for esophageal cancer in rural areas—and this work is happening here in southern Oregon.

Our teams supported community health during the Jackson & Josephine Health Fair 2026 this weekend. Together they shared important information about fall prevention, stroke and heart attack symptoms, providing education and highlighting resources that strengthen the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve!

Leslie knew when she worked as a chef that she could do more for the people she served. So, she became a dietitian and started a farm with her husband and children.

Through her work at Three Rivers Medical Center, she helps patients through treatments. On the weekends, you’ll find her at the Grants Pass Saturday Market with homegrown vegetables. She even hosts a cooking class at our hospital.

“We're making a huge difference. I get to help patients through their worst days to their biggest wins, teaching people how to use food in their healing. Words can’t express the feeling you get from knowing this work matters.”

We are excited to announce extended hours at our Ashland campus for the following services: Cardiopulmonary testing, X-ray, mammography and ultrasound. These services are now available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, to provide increased evening appointment options for our patients.

It was a great weekend at the 50th annual Pear Blossom Run as the Presenting Sponsor! Our Immediate Care team was on hand to help at the Medical Tent, employees volunteered on the course and our Asante General Surgery team shared health education with our community for . Way to go, teams!

Walking through the doors at Rogue Regional Medical Center, James is one of the first people you’ll likely meet. With genuine warmth, James helps patients check in for procedures and supports families and caregivers while they wait. It was 10 years ago this week that James began working as a Patient Service Representative. Beyond that, James also is a Marine and Army veteran who has lived in the Rogue Valley for over 20 years. James says it’s the people who he comes for every day, “Keeping family members informed, that’s how I provide care. Letting them know you are just as important and I’m here for you during this time.”
