David Allan Vaughn

David Vaughn’s love of life didn’t come to an end with his death. Dave passed away on February 24, 2025 at the age of 75 after a courageous yearlong battle with cancer. No services were held as requested by Dave.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Dave. He loved relaxing in the mountains and seeing sunsets at the lake. Feeding squirrels and watching them find the food as he watched from the travel trailer. His professional life is a tribute to his ability as an industrial and electrical engineer to apply unique techniques to varied problems. Some of his designs in the industry of his choice are still operating, providing a long service to his customers. He founded his own company DVA, Inc. in 1995 after a long career with his Dad’s company and a nationwide company in Chicago. He had a strong commitment to his family.

Dave is survived by his wife, Laura, and children from his previous marriage; daughters Sharon Buchanan (Jack) and Marsha Taylor (Matt) and his son Kenneth Vaughn; surviving also is his mother, Charlene Vaughn, a sister, Shirley Baker, and two brothers Doug (Melanie) and James (Valerie) plus numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Vaughn and his sister, Linda White.

Dave was a light that shone brightly and left us all too soon. We find comfort in the fact we will see him again. His body has left us but his soul waits for us in heaven.

Sandra Angela Rollason

Sandra A. Rollason, lovingly known as Mombot, Momba, Gambot, Gramma, Gramma Sparkle, Gramma Thunder, and CG, passed away on February 22, 2026, at the age of 62, at Kaiser Permanente Sunnyside Hospital after suffering a major brain aneurysm. Her sudden and unexpected passing has left her family heartbroken.

Born in Chula Vista, California, to Maria G. Cordero and Albert W. Thompson, Sandra was the sixth of nine children—and the first to be born in the United States. From the beginning, she carried a unique blend of strength, tenderness, and spirited joy that would define her life and the lives she touched.

Sandra was profoundly proud of her faith and her family. Her love for the Lord guided her, and her devotion to her husband, children, grandchildren, mother, siblings, and friends was unwavering. She was kind, deeply loving, and generous almost to a fault. She was brave, honest, and strong—someone who spoke truth with love, and someone you always knew where you stood with.

She found joy in cooking, traveling, singing, shopping, eating, and spending time with her family. She loved the ocean, loved treating her loved ones, and loved seeing others happy. Her laughter—bright, loud, and utterly infectious—was one of her greatest gifts to the world.

Sandra leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, laughter, faith, and devotion. She was a faithful follower of Christ, a loyal and devoted wife, mother, sibling, friend, and a fierce advocate for what was right, fair, and just. She was a lover, a fighter, a warrior, and a gentle nurturer—whatever her family needed, she became. She was their unsung hero, and she will be missed beyond measure but celebrated daily.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Rollason; her three sons: Elijah A. Rollason and his wife Ekaterina A. Rollason, PA‑C; Timmothy M. Rosenberg and his wife Sheila M. Rosenberg; and her youngest son, Joshua D. Rollason. And her mother-in-law Nancy Rollason.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren—Robert A. Doty (Elijah & Ekaterina), Devon Rosenberg, Quinton Rosenberg, Seth Rosenberg and Tysen Rosenberg (Tim & Sheila), Thomas J. Rollason, David Rollason, Danielle Rollason (Joshua), Kimber Traver, and James Traver—and one great‑grandchild Marcus Rosenberg (Devon Rosenberg).

Sandra is further survived by seven siblings: Dr. Joseph A. Cordero, Pastor Johnny C. Cordero, Kina Thompson, Mari Thompson, Lizabeth Nichols, Leslie Malbrough, and

Ceinwyn Hightower; as well as 15 nieces and nephews, and many great‑nieces, great‑nephews, and great‑great‑nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Albert W. Thompson, her mother Maria G. Cordero, her grandson Timmothy M. Rosenberg Jr., her younger brother Christopher J. Hightower and her father-in-law, Thomas F. Rollason.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, where Sandra will be laid to rest surrounded by her family.

Adam Wade Flannery

After a 4 year battle with Type 1 Brittle Diabetes, Adam has succumbed to this terrible disease. His family is devastated by his passing. Those who knew him well loved him. He will be missed.

When his family thinks of Adam, they think of his deep love for hunting, fishing, and the outdoors—places where he felt most at peace. Adam was a considerate and giving soul, from helping blind kids learn how to ski, to making sure people had a freezer full of venison, salmon, or crab meat.He was an avid skier and awesome soccer player in his day. He had a quick smile and a true heart. He loved his son, Daniel Wade and the memories they made together in the outdoors. His true friends knew that if you needed him, and he could help you, he would go out of his way to do so.

His nieces and nephews fondly recall trips to the coast, riding quads, and holidays full of laughter. They also think of the love he had for his family, and especially his mom, who knew him better than anyone did and who loved him better than anyone could.

Lela Ann Wines

Our beloved mother, Lela Ann Wines, passed away in her home in Jacksonville, Oregon, on January 28th - with brownies baking in the oven for her family. Mom was a devoted wife to Elwin, her husband of almost 60 years, and loving mother to her three children and seven grandchildren. We learned so much from her quiet strength, her loving ways, her ready smile, and her strong commitment to God and family. She will be deeply missed.

Lela was born in Illinois on September, Friday the 13th, and always considered Friday the 13th as lucky. She was the daughter of Forrest and Francis Huffaker, whom she lost to tragic accidents while still a child, and the third of eight children. She worked her own way through nurses training and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree. She and her preacher/evangelist husband lived in various locations around the Midwest, continuing her nursing career wherever they lived. She took great pride in having helped to save the youngest premature baby that had ever survived up to that time. They came to Oregon in 1968, finally settling into her current home in 1972.

Lela is preceded in death by her husband, Elwin, her oldest son, Forrest, and all of her seven siblings. She is survived by her children Stan and Marian, and grandchildren Ariel, Kale, Eleah, Acacia, Linnae, Tiel, and Benjamin.

Her memorial service will be held Saturday, February 7th at 2:00 p.m. - Ruch Community Bible Church, 190 Upper Applegate Rd. Reception following.

Michael Douglas McGinty

Our beloved Michael Douglas McGinty. Son, brother, Husband, Father, Grandpa, Great Grandpa and friend. Michael was born July 10th, 1947 to Clifford and Betty McGinty. He was raised in Jacksonville with ties to the area going back to the early 1900’s. He is survived by his wife Carol, his children Jeff and Christianne, his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Michael was an avid outdoorsman, a train hobbyist, painter, fisher, builder, thinker and tinkerer.

Early in life he studied at The Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath for engineering. Out of college he worked on the Dam at Lost Creek Lake. He later would go to University of Oregon and Southern Oregon University to study art.

He was a Surveyor on and off for many years. Michael was also a founding member of the Medford Railroad Park.

None of his many accomplishments were more important to him than when he gave his life to the Lord. He was a Deacon, an Elder, and an amazing Brother in Christ. He absolutely loved the Lord. Michael loved listening to the Word, studying it with his wife and friends, and praying for everyone in his life. Waking up every morning to start his day by making their coffee, he and Carol would then sit, holding hands, and enjoy opening the Bible. Diving into the Word and praying for everyone on their hearts that day. He was a leader in Faith to his family, a rock for everyone who knew him. He was loving, calm, kind and caring.

If you stopped by to see him, you might find him out working on his pond and admiring the koi fish or maybe in the living room watching Jack Hibbs. He would welcome you in with a warm smile. Michael could talk and tell stories for hours. He had such a peaceful way about him, it was easy to lose track of the time.

With Michael by their sides, he blessed his family with his beautiful train village decorated Christmas trees, 4th of July’s at the lake and BBQ gatherings in the backyard. He never missed a party, holiday or graduation. If you called, he always answered, though he might tell you in depth about his day and make you forget why you had called in the first place.

He hated beans, ate his hot dogs grilled and split down the middle. He loved his tabby cat Mango, praised the Lord with his hands held high, loved doodling, ducks, chopping wood and holding hands. He loved his family and always made sure they knew it. There is no one like him. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

His friends and family find comfort knowing he is home with the Lord, happy and healthy, and that they will all be reunited with him in Heaven.

Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted”

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” Amen.

A Memorial service will be held at Memory Garden on March 16th at 10:00am.

Richard Stephen Markin

On November 16, 2025 in Medford, Oregon, our world sadly lost a son, father, brother, and uncle, artist, traveler, chef, and storyteller Richard Stephen "Steve" Markin after 65 years.Steve was born in Toledo, Ohio near the shores of the Great Lake he loved and frequently returned to throughout his life. He yearned to travel even as a young man, driven by his innate curiosity and always ready to take the next road, and this led to U.S. Naval service in the Mediterranean and countless opportunities throughout our country, chances to see and experience things most of us only imagine. It also allowed him to be close to the natural world that brought him peace. Camping, fishing, exploring, Steve loved the outdoors and never shied from the opportunity to spend a night outside in the woods or the desert or the beach. This connection extended to the animals around him. Steve appreciated and respected all living creatures, from the massive brown bear to the tiny scorpion, from the wild stallion to the trudging possum, from the reptiles of the swamps to the stags of the forest. Above all, he never met a dog he didn't love, and every dog he met, whether his own pets to the mangy stray, returned this affection. His adventures around the country provided endless fodder for tales he would share with family and friends. Like most fishermen, Steve was a consummate storyteller, weaving tales that entertained and surprised anyone who would take the time to sit and share one of his expertly cooked meals. But delicious food and wild stories were not Steve's only creations or the extent of his talents. He could build and repair anything... literally anything. If a house needed a new roof, an engine needed a new part, or a watch needed a new gear, Steve could repair it. Yet his calloused hands and overt bravado did nothing to hide his innate sensitivity and artist eye. Steve could find beauty in everything around him, even in places others might discard or ignore. He could see and carve out the butterfly trapped in an old block of wood. He could hear the ancient natural song of water lapping under a trash-strewn bridge. He could feel the value in every person he met, even those that the world might have abandoned, and never hesitated to put out a hand or cook a warm meal or share what he could with a fellow traveler.Steve, glasses peering out from under an ever-present ball cap, crooked grin on his face, would read these words and laugh, shrug them off, say they must be for someone else, and chide anyone who cries for him. In this humility, though, he could never understand how much he meant to the lives of the family and friends who knew him. Because he is gone, somewhere, tonight, a stray dog loses a crust of bread and a pat, a sunset goes unappreciated, and a story of an unbelievable adventure goes untold. Most of all, those who love him find the day a little less funny, find a lost nugget of advice based in deep life experience, find an empty space in a too-quiet night, find a tear rolling down a cheek with no one there to tease a smile and reject this grief.Steve, adventurer, outdoorsman, craftsman, woodcarver, troubadour, father, brother, uncle, and friend...you are missed and loved more than you ever knew or accepted in life. Find the rest and peace you were always seeking, and keep the coffee warm so we can all sit around the table and swap tall tales when we meet again.Steve is preceded in death by father and mother, Larry and Joyce McGhee Markin, older brother, Larry “Slim” Markin, Jr. and beloved grandmother Hazel Harness McGhee. He is survived by child Danny (Emily) Markin, brother David (Shalene) Markin, sisters Kimberly Wieling, Cheryl Pinney, Linda Hunt, Wendy Sipes, and Elizabeth (Matthew) Hysell, along with over forty nephews and nieces, and friend and traveling companion, Jacki Manders.Memorial Service will take place at a later date.
