Here I am repping 295 for 8 reps this morning . Growing in strength since I got on the plan. One day it's my goal to squat my former bodyweight of 380 lbs. I'll get there soon enough, but for now, I'm pleased with where I am.

I'm convinced that weight lifting is the fountain of youth physically speaking. Cardio has its uses for long term health...

I'm convinced that weight lifting is the fountain of youth physically speaking. Cardio has its uses for long term health, but weight lifting is the single most important thing you can do in coordination with a healthy diet.

Research shows that resistance training, whether done via bodyweight, resistance bands or machines, helps us build strength and counteract age-related muscle loss.

Met up with the family today to run a 5K today in honor of my wife's cousin Heidi WW Ambassador who's fighting esophageal cancer. She also happened to have kicked obesity's butt a few yearss back and is a WW Ambassador. If all that wasn't enough she's also my childhood best friend's mom! She's meant a lot to me in different roles over the years. She's in the biggest fight of her life now, but I have a lot of confidence in her.

Was mentally prepared to beat my three plate (315 lbs) squat PR of three reps this morning by digging deep and going for four. I ended up getting five reps in both the first and second set followed by a set of four.

I'm convinced the vast majority of us are short changing ourselves in the gym leading to a major lack in progress.

P.S. I won't be moving up in weight until I execute these with better form. I'm not far off but definitely need to correct some things.

375 is starting to rep pretty well. Hard to believe I once weighed 5 lbs heavier than what I'm lifting here. It's also kind of crazy that just 2 years later I'm already forgetting what life was like back then. It's been so long since my constant worry of the weight limit of a chair, size limit of a rollercoaster, or largest clothing size the store carried. Truthfully, I want to remember that forever so I can appreciate how far I've come.

It's humbling how fast you lose cardio abilities when you neglect them. First time I ran more than a mile in quite a while as the time shows. Getting back to it. I understand chasing this goal hurts the gains I'll be able to make, but I'm not prepared to give up the cardiovascular endurance I acheived because I spent way too long at 380 lbs and unable to do any of this. Knock on em dead guys!

P.S. nevermind my dumb looking smile, I was struggling lol

Definitely made some progress during quarantine. Here I am squatting 10 lbs over my previous one rep max for 3 reps.
