Pioneers Medical Center is offering a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program in Meeker from June 9–July 9, 2026. Tuition is provided at no charge; however, some additional screening, testing, and materials costs apply. This Colorado state-approved program includes classroom instruction, skills labs, and clinical experience, preparing students to sit for the state CNA exam. Classes will be held weekdays at Meeker High School, with clinicals at Pioneers Medical Center. Enrollment is limited to 10 students, and applicants must be age 16 or older. Hospital Week at Pioneers Medical Center was filled with appreciation, laughter, teamwork, and community spirit as we celebrated the incredible employees who make healing happen every day.

From themed dress-up days and shared meals to moments of connection across departments, it was a wonderful reminder that every role at PMC matters and every employee helps make a difference in our community.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Memorial Day is a time for reflection, gratitude, and remembrance of those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy every day.

Here in Meeker, we are reminded of the strength, patriotism, and close-knit spirit that makes our community so special. We are proud to live in a place where neighbors support one another, flags fly proudly, and the service and sacrifice of our veterans and fallen heroes are never forgotten.

From all of us at Pioneers Medical Center, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the families who carry the legacy of those we have lost and to all who have served our nation with courage and honor.

May we all take a moment today to remember, reflect, and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country.

With more than 20 years of culinary experience, Eric Vick brings heart, creativity, and a true passion for service to his role as Director of Food & Nutrition at Pioneers Medical Center.

Originally from Tallahassee, Florida, Eric’s love for cooking started young — “I was pushing a chair up to the kitchen counter as a kid,” he says. Raised by his mother and grandmother, both longtime hospital nurses, Eric grew up surrounded by caregiving and compassion. Those early experiences shaped not only his career, but his commitment to making people feel cared for through food.

From working in restaurants at just 14 years old to earning his Certified Dietary Manager license, Eric has spent decades perfecting his craft while never losing sight of what matters most: creating meals people genuinely look forward to.

Residents and staff can expect flavorful favorites like teriyaki chicken rice bowls, salmon dishes, and creative chef specials that keep everyone guessing.

Eric’s passion shines through in every dish that comes out of the kitchen, and we’re so excited for our community to experience the warmth, creativity, and comfort he brings to PMC.
