-Hormone production

-Controlling appetite

Have you been working on losing weight for a while and it’s just not coming off?

There are several reasons that may be causing this.


Sometimes it’s jus that we need to be patient and give our body time to heal…

But sometimes it could be things that we don’t realize are causing our metabolism to be slow, or even causing weight gain.



Everything we eat, do and come in contact with, affects our body chemistry.

Ever wonder why diets don’t work long-term for most people?

No matter how hard we may work to stay on them, because they’re one-size-fits-all, they are hard to stick with.


But if you can take a personalized approach to your health, you are much more likely to stick with it for the rest of your life.

After years of yo-yo dieting, I finally came to this conclusion myself.



Though I may use different aspects of different diets and plans that I’ve been on, I personalize my diet to fit me.

And since 2017, I’ve been able to stick with my personalized plan.

- Specific needs
- Lifestyle



This approach is great if you want to optimize your health and feel your best.

Want to start building healthy habits that stick?

Taking action on them is 95% mental and 5% physical.


If you can get over your mental blocks, you are almost there.

But if you can get out of your head and just take action…

You will realize that whatever was holding you back is not as bad as you think.



And when you do start those healthy habits, remember to focus on the things that are in your control and don’t stress over the things that are out of your control.

Your body naturally produces the GLP-1 hormone…

But it can be affected by a number of factors, including:

-Sleep deprivation
-Having type 2 diabetes
-Fasting


And this may be why your doctor puts you on a GLP-1 medication.

It can help lower blood sugar.



However it has some downsides such as muscle loss, weakened bones, vitamin deficiencies and gastrointestinal issues

So, if you must be on them, there are some steps you can take to prevents some of these side effects.

GLP-1 medications mimic the effects of the hormone glucagon-like peptide 1.

This is a hormone we make naturally by the small intestines to regulate blood sugar and control appetite.


However, it can be affected by our diet.

If we fail to get enough fiber, healthy fats and protein, it can start to affect the release of the hormone.



This is when doctors may recommend taking GLP-1 drugs to help make up for it.

And it may help with weight loss, but there are some other side effects that you want to avoid if at all possible like muscle loss, vitamin deficiencies, gastroperesis, and weak bones.

Well…pretty much everything.


When you get physical activity on a consistent basis, it improves:

-Physical health
-Mental health
-Brain health
-Helps you sleep better
-Combats stress
-Helps prevent disease

Healthy habits don’t have to be complicated or take a lot of time.

In fact, Once you have a healthy daily routine down, you will find that it takes less time than your old habits.


When I was working on creating my health routine after my diabetes diagnosis, I realized that it took less time to cook and prep healthy meals at home than it did to seek out junk food.

I also found that I didn’t have to do nearly as much cardio exercise to get healthy once I was eating healthy food.


Sometimes the habits we know we should be doing seem overwhelming…

But if you just start with one simple healthy habit at a time, it can make getting healthy more achievable.

Leading a healthy life doesn’t have to be complicated or take up a lot of time.

In fact, some of the simplest ways to get healthy may take less time than what you’re currently doing.


Back when I was working on a healthier daily routine, I realized this.

Some of my habits, such as going to the gym, eating out, and snacking throughout the day, were actually taking up more time than I thought.



Once I streamlined my routine and focused on simple habits like cooking at home and taking time to sit down to eat, I found that I was less stressed and actually had more time in my day for other things.

I know I am always talking about the habits to do to improve your health…

But did you know that there are habits that you could be doing regularly that are keeping you from getting healthy?


I talk with people everyday that are doing these very habits and have no idea how harmful they are.

Things like heating food in plastic containers, using toxic cleaning products and buying food products with unhealthy oils👉cause health issues over time.



The problem with these habits are that your body has no idea how to process these toxins, so it treats them as a foreign invader to keep you safe.

And as we continue to do them, we begin to get chronic inflammation, symptoms and chronic illness.


Some blame these issues on getting older, but the truth is that we can avoid many of the health problems we develop by simply lowering our toxic load.

Many are ignored or managed with medication.


But if you really want to get rid of symptoms…

You must find the root of the problem and take steps to treat it.



And many symptoms and health conditions can be solved easily.

Making lifestyle adjustments like adding in a food that has the nutrient you’re lacking, taking out a food that is giving you symptoms, getting good sleep on a consistent basis, or getting some sunlight everyday, may be all you need to solve your problem.


But how do know what to do or where to start?

Sometimes you can figure it out on your own…

And sometimes you need support.

What habits do you do to stay energized and feeling good in the summer months? 🌞

One of my favorites is staying hydrated…

And I don’t just mean drinking lots of water.💦


Did you know that to be truly hydrated you need water and minerals?

Without minerals your cells can’t get hydration.


Minerals are electrolytes that help maintain healthy fluid balance and pH levels in the body.

Having imbalances in electrolytes can lead to dehydration just as quickly as water loss.


The four minerals that you need daily are sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium.

And the best sources of minerals are sea salt, fruits, vegetables, eggs, seafood and red meat. 🌊🧂

When you hydrate with water and minerals, you will feel energized and feeling good all summer long.
