"My _____said I don't need counseling" My ____ doesn't understand why I would pay to talk to someone". I have heard so many stories like these from people who are considering counseling and struggling to deal with their own feelings and the opinions of those around. Professional therapy has been especially taboo in the black community for generations. I am so happy to see that tide turning. Black people are tapping into the healing of mental health therapy. Religious groups are accepting that God has gifted humanity the ability to cultivate tools to heal, grow and thrive. We have a long way to go but we are moving. If you were looking for a sign to reach out for counseling...here ya go!
