Our Story

Pediatric Consultants, P.C. was started in August 1991 when Dr. Noel K. Frizzell and Dr. Landon B. Pendergrass left the general pediatric group of the University of Tennessee to form their own private practice. The practice has grown to include ten pediatricians who continue to provide general pediatric healthcare to infants, children, and adolescents in Memphis and the Mid-South area. The initial office location of Pediatric Consultants is in the physician’s office building of LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center, Memphis’s premier children’s hospital. Pediatric Consultants now also has offices in East Memphis at the Baptist Women’s Hospital and in Collierville. The doctors of Pediatric Consultants are leaders in the medical community and believe in the importance of teaching and training young physicians. Both Dr. Frizzell and Dr. Pendergrass have served as Chief of Staff at LeBonheur and Dr. Ellis is the current Chief of the Pediatric Department at the Baptist Women’s Hospital. Drs. Frizzell, Pendergrass, and Mathis have received awards from the pediatric residents for their excellence in teaching. Dr. Frizzell was named as one of Memphis’s ‘Top Doctors’ in the field of Pediatrics by Memphis Magazine in July, 2009. The doctors of Pediatric Consultants believe that access and continuity are the cornerstones of quality healthcare. They have worked hard on initiatives to make significant measurable improvement in these areas.
