The Patient Account Representative (PAR) supports the medical billing department by assisting patients in the understanding of their accounts and balances and working with insurance companies to ensure that claims are properly processed.
Overall knowledge of billing/collection processes for medical practice. Proficient in CPT, ICD10, and HCPCS coding. Understands third party reimbursement guidelines. Assist patients with problems concerning billing codes, payments, etc. Responsible for insurance claims follow-up. Knowledge of medical/billing terminology.
Applicant must be a team player with professional demeanor, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to follow proper protocols.
