Maybe you’ve heard this before. But is it true? Absolutely!

Different colors in food typically correspond with different nutrient profiles and antioxidants. In order to ensure optimal health and adequate vitamin/mineral intake, aim for variety!

Remember, nutrition is a continuum! This means it’s totally okay if every meal isn’t composed of a majority vegetables and fruit. Adding them where you can though, can really boost energy levels and mood and provide health-protective benefits!

At 901 Nutrition, we love snacks! However, if you find yourself constantly snacking all throughout the day, it may be because you are not eating enough at mealtimes.

You want to leave your meal feeling full and satiated. If this is not the case for you, here are a couple options to try:

Add protein and/or fiber to your meals. Both nutrients help regulate your blood sugar and will keep you fuller for longer.

Eat satisfying foods. You may feel full after you finishing eating, but if you don't feel satisfied, you may end up searching for more food afterwards.

Let’s talk probiotics!

First off, what are probiotics? Probiotics are live microorganisms (found in fermented foods and supplements) that promote a healthy balance of gut bacteria. Having a healthy digestive system is linked to stronger immunity, higher energy levels, improved mood and mental health, and weight maintenance.

Foods such as kombucha, kimchi, kefir, sauerkraut, and yogurt are great sources of probiotics!

Our favorite brand of kombucha is Buchi, with TONS of different flavors to choose from.

Some may find acai bowls to not be so filling, so adding nuts, nut butter, and/or seeds increases the protein, fiber, and healthy fat content, which helps keep us fuller for longer. It also makes the bowl taste that much better!
