We had such a heartwarming full-circle moment at our pre-school program. Naima, who started her journey with us in the Bluebell classroom and is now a second grader, came back as our special Friday Reader guest! She shared some wonderful stories and got everyone singing along to classics like “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and “The Hokey Pokey.” It’s moments like these that remind us of the special bonds we build with our students and families. Our Friday Reader program is always open to students who want to join in for some fun storytelling with guest readers from our families, friends, and staff!

Cheering on caregivers who make a difference every day! 💙 This January, we introduced the Caregiver Collaborative pilot for the ACT CORE team in Brunswick. It’s a welcoming space for caregivers—parents, siblings, partners, and more—to connect, share, and support one another. Led by Emily Thomas and Tom Elie, the group combines helpful education about mental health resources with heartfelt peer support. Emily shared how quickly everyone realized how much they needed this community! Well done!

Our behavioral health unit team started Valentine’s Day with a cheerful breakfast, bringing together friends from MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Sanford. Sharing good food and great company gave us the perfect chance to connect, laugh, and celebrate the wonderful teamwork that helps us care for our patients—and each other—every day. Thanks to everyone who made the morning so special! ❤️

We are so proud of our Belfast and Rockland psychiatry teams!

Thanks to strong teamwork and daily coordination, these teams helped our patients get into care FASTER—delivering hundreds of additional psychiatry appointments in the first quarter alone! It’s a powerful example of clinical and administrative staff working together to improve access and support our communities.

Way to go, and thank you for the care you provide every day! 💙

During stressful and uncertain times, it's so important to find healthy ways to process our emotions—for ourselves and those around us. Recently, Dory Hacker, Project Director, created this beautiful painting titled "all of my love is here" to explore her own feelings. This creative expression is such a wonderful reminder that healing takes many forms! Dory truly embodies the spirit of care team resiliency. Through her compassionate leadership, she shows us that taking care of ourselves is at the heart of caring for others. Thank you for inspiring us, Dory!

We’re excited to welcome three new co-op students from the Roux Institute at Northeastern University to our team! 🎉

These recent project management graduates will be with us for the next six months, supporting key projects across MHBH. We’re looking forward to their fresh perspectives, strong skills, and the energy they bring—and to watching them grow during their time with us. Welcome to the team! 👏

Shopping at Hannaford at Hannaford Plaza in South Portland this month? If not, you should! And you can make a difference just by picking up some flowers!
For the entire month of January, look for the Bloomin' 4 Good bouquets with the red sticker - every bouquet sold means $1 goes directly to support MHBH programs.
Bring home some sunshine, brighten someone's day, and help support our patients!
