It’s time for a break… From creating this class from an idea, to guiding these young high schoolers into the possibility of a healthcare career, the past 7 years have been a blessing. I’ve had the honor of having former students becoming my coworkers and others who have told me they are going to xyz school because of my class(es). My heart is full! But life moves on… other things need my attention (grandbabies and my cpr business are the top two) so I need to step back after this 24/25 school year is completed.

I know the class will continue with a new teacher (an RN) and she will bring her own love to the class. I will be there for cpr.

My brain is already churning what I might do in another year or so…… please keep an eye out here or message me if you’d like to be notified if I move forward with any brainstorms!

I look forward to ending this school year with these awesome students and seeing what comes next! God bless!!

Q2 flew by so quickly. We learned about splinting, NG tubes, EKGs, service projects: giving to others, had guest speakers and so much more! What will Q 3 bring?

We’ve covered a lot this quarter including splinting, preventing bedsores, inserting ng tubes and performing ekg lead placement. What will quarter 3 bring?

We’ve started our 24/25 school year! We worked on patient ID, proper hand washing and taking a temperature this week. Learning to take vital signs one step at a time!

Some of the students from the Health Occupations Class had the privilege of touring Collierville Baptist Hospital. They got to hear from medical staff including pharmacy, radiology and nursing. Then they visited many departments including ICU and the ER. Thanks to all who took the time make it happen!

Congratulations to the Health Occupations Class at Bellevue Tutorial. All students successfully completed the check offs and exam for the American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support CPR (healthcare provider cpr). Many students chose to receive the certification card but it was optional. Regardless, learning and testing BLS now will make it easier when they need to repeat the class when they are in their selected medical careers. Congratulations to all. They did a great job!!
