VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:

Memphis Alano Club is looking for cafe volunteers. What’s an Alano Club, ask?!

Core Purposes and Functions
Safe Haven: To provide a permanent, sober, and drug-free facility for recovery meetings and social interaction.

Socialization and Events: To offer recreational activities, potlucks, and special events (e.g., holiday events) that foster long-term recovery and friendship.

Recovery Support: To serve as a, often 24/7, contact point for people in addiction recovery seeking help, fellowship, and a place to avoid isolation.

Supporting 12-Step Groups: While distinct from Alcoholics Anonymous, Alano Clubs offer a space for these groups to hold meetings.

Had a blast meeting some folks at Craigmont Middle School today for Memphis-Shelby County Schools - MSCS 13th Annual Su***de Prevention Expo! Thanks everyone for doing the work. Excited to connect and looking forward to some new faces (especially young people!) at our next YOOT meeting on October 30th.
