ABOUT ME:
My name is Angela Campbell. I was raised on a farm with all types of animals. My love for animals and my desire to nurture and protect them has never wavered. I became a registered nurse in 2000, but always felt something was missing. My dream is to work with animals. I have been studying and working with essential oils and energy medicine for over a decade. I am a HEALING TOUCH FOR ANIMALS ADVANCED PROFICIENCY LEVEL Practitioner. I am a YOUNG LIVING OILS independent distributor and consultant. I moved to Colorado to expand my knowledge base and attend school. I attended ROCKY MOUNTIAN SCHOOL OF ANIMAL ACUPRESSURE AND MASSAGE (RMSAAM). I gained my certifications through this program. Although I treat most types of animals, I specialize in horses and dogs. I am Certified in Equine and Canine Massage and Laser Therapy. I work on all levels of animals, from family pets to high performance animals. For me, there is nothing that is more rewarding than connecting with an animal and being allowed to contribute to their well-being. I am based in Colorado Springs, CO; but travel up to 100 miles to see clients. I often meet clients at dog or horse shows for sessions to prepare and recover the dog or horse for optimal performance. Please see my page on services and pricing. My contact information is below. I look forward to being a member of you animal’s heath care team. Thank you for taking the time to read about me and my services. THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE THERAPY
Many people think that massage is a luxury or frivolous; and just involves “petting” the animal. To the contrary, massage is an ancient and evolving modality. Massage uses specific techniques to deliberately focus on trouble areas and bring the whole body back into a state of healing. They body was designed to move freely in work or play. Any hindrance to movement is not natural and can be improved if not restored. Massage therapy:
Maintains muscle tone and health
Increases range of motion and keeps joints flexible
Reduces pain and stimulates acupressure points
Increases blood circulation and lymph flow
Promotes proper body and organ function
Restores emotional balance and energy flow throughout the body
This is a wonderful service for:
Family pets or farm animals
Senior animals who, need help for chronic issues like arthritis
High performance animals:
Working horses, Rodeo, and all types of show horses
Dogs in agility, fly ball, or conformation dog shows
Massage is a growing complimentary therapy. It is being used in all areas of animal health with wonderful results. Massage therapy allows the body to do what it was designed to do; work and play. Massage relaxes the body so that it can function properly and move freely. I studied and received certification through ROCKY MOUNTAIN SCHOOL OF ANIMAL ACUPRESSURE AND MASSAGE. CLASS 3 “COLD” LASER THERAPY
What is it? Cold laser therapy is done with a class 3 laser. This class of laser does not heat tissue which can cause damage. Class 3 or “cold Laser” is light therapy also defined as “photobiomodulation” It is composed of packets of light called Photons. The class 3 laser is a ‘Super Pulsing’ laser that delivers light into tissue at many different wavelengths; from superficial/skin to deep tissue penetration for muscles and joints. This pulsing causes a “Cascade Effect” allowing the light to penetrate better and without risks associated with thermally heating tissues. How does it work? Cells that are damaged or injured cannot participate in the healing process but, after photons (light therapy) are absorbed the cell is able through a biological process to transform the light into biochemical energy to help the cell function properly. All very technical, but basically, laser therapy works on the cellular level to aid in healing. Healthy cells make healthy tissue which makes healthy systems and the body thrives. The body’s natural inclination is to heal itself. In other words, Laser therapy gives the cells a “jump start” to healing. What does it treat? Laser therapy is being used to treat everything from acute injury to chronic issues and pain management.
1. Laser helps to generate ATP (adenosine triphosphate) which simply put; provides the cell with energy to accelerate and enhance healing. This speeds healing for acute injuries or surgical incisions.
2. Laser increases Nitric oxide which vasodilators and promotes pain relief. This allows more oxygen and nutrients to the site of injury or disease and inhibits the release of histamines and other inflammatory mediators. So, through this process the tissue gets the fuel it needs to heal while blocking the inflammation response.
3. Laser increases the cell’s ability to run the sodium-potassium pump which regulates pain response; thereby removing the pain signal at it’s source. The sodium-potassium pump is the part of the cell responsible for nerve conduction and pain response. Using laser pain can be reduced or completely eliminated. This application is used for chronic or acute pain issues. Therefore, laser is an excellent treatment for trigger points, muscle strain, arthritis, old or new injury to joints, and any other long-term pain issues. Laser simply initiates the natural healing process. It stimulates the cells while supporting the tissue to heal. Laser decreases pain, helps to heal infection, allows relaxation and helps the body return to optimal function. HEALING TOUCH FOR ANIMALS
Everything is energy. HEALING TOUCH FOR ANIMALS was developed by Carol Komitor. I am an Advanced Proficiency Practitioner. In the body are energy centers that when aligned, open, and moving; balance, maintain, and heal the body. HEALING TOUCH FOR ANIMALS is an energy field therapy that supports the body and encourages it to heal. Using focused techniques and direct intention, healing touch energy work can provide all types of balance and healing for the physical body and emotional state. Healing Touch reduces stress and anxiety. It relieves pain, supports the immune system, and allows the body to heal itself from illness, wounds, and injury. Healing touch and energy work is more than a therapy; it is a way of life. Energy work is a way of looking at the world and the animals in it as whole and balanced. Energy work returns the animal to the overall well-being state that nature intended. ESSENTIAL OILS
Essential oils have been used successfully for centuries. Before modern medicine, people relied on herbs and the oils derived from them to treat all types of conditions. The ancient practice of using essential oils still works today and is being used more and more with people and their animals. I use YOUNG LIVING oils in my practice. I like their “Seed to Seal” policy. If at any time in the process of making the oils the quality of the product does not meet their standards; then it is not put on the market. I appreciate this integrity and trust their products. Oils have a vibration and frequency that contributes to the healing process. It is this unique ability that allows oils to greatly benefit people and their animals. I like to use herbs or oils for issues like pain or infection rather than a chemical developed in a lab. I have seen how oils often work better and without the side effects of pharmaceuticals in people and animals
Yes, there are times when pharmaceuticals are needed. However, we can reduce or even eliminate the need for foreign chemicals in favor of a natural substance; I think the natural approach is optimal. Essential oils can harmonize and balance the whole being. For this reason I use them in my practice with wonderful results. PLEASE NOTE
