Genicular Artery Embolization (G*E) offers a minimally invasive alternative for people with knee osteoarthritis who aren't ready for, or can’t undergo, knee replacement.

G*E is performed through a tiny incision, where a catheter is guided to the small arteries around the knee. By reducing inflammation in these vessels, G*E can significantly decrease pain and improve mobility.

The procedure is quick, typically done in under an hour, with no large incisions or stitches. Most patients go home the same day and return to daily activities much faster than after surgery.

It’s simpler and less invasive than most people expect.

UFE is performed by an interventional radiologist using a tiny pinhole incision, typically in the wrist or groin. A thin catheter is guided through your blood vessels to the arteries supplying the fibroids, where small particles are released to block blood flow and shrink them over time.

There are no large incisions or stitches, and the procedure is typically completed in under an hour. Most patients go home the same day and return to normal activities much sooner than with surgery.
