Collagen ✨
Collagen is a protein found in our hair, skin, nails, joints, bones, cartilage, and more! It’s what keeps our nails strong, our skin glowing, and helps us move and stretch.
As we get older, our body stops making as much collagen, and we can lose firmness in our skin and flexibility in our joints. By adding collagen to meals, you can help restore your body’s collagen and support all those important structures!
Collagen is made up of amino acids (protein) so it’s also a great way to add more protein to your diet. It’s not a complete protein though - meaning it doesn’t contain all 9 of the essential amino acids your body needs - so it’s important to include other sources of protein in your diet too.
I like Vital Proteins because they have simple ingredients (this container has 1 ingredient: collagen). They are also a reputable brand, and you can find it almost anywhere - like Target.
This collagen dissolves into ANYTHING and doesn’t have a taste or a texture. I add a scoop to my milk in the morning for my cereal, to my Kodiak Cakes pancake mix, to my smoothies, and anywhere else I can get it in. I know people who add it to their coffee as well!
