Who wants a healthy, inexpensive, quick meal for your family? šŸ™‹šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

One of my goals this year is to make more opportunities to sit at our kitchen table as a family to enjoy meals together. Last year I become a short-order cook with all our conflicting schedules 😩 This year we decided to eat our main meal between 3-4pm together after school and before everyone is out the door for their next activities. Unconventional but so far it’s working! šŸ¤žšŸ¼

This easy combination of chicken, broccoli, Alfredo sauce and pasta is a meal you can whip up in less then 20 mins. The pre-diced frozen chicken and microwave steamed broccoli from are always in my freezer and this jarred Alfredo sauce’s macros are šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼ if you’re watching your carb level, don’t include the pasta, it’s tastes awesome without it. Sick of salads? Need some good carbs to keep you full? Make a wrap! I love these OlĆ© Xtreme Wellness tortillas! I use them for burritos and wraps and they are great substitute for those high carb tortillas and breads. Super tasty, high fiber and always in my fridge! šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

Hello there Macro friends! How was your Summer? I hope these long Summer days were filled with one or all of the following:

-Travel - Meals with friends - Late nights - Sleeping in - Movie nights - BBQ’s and swim parties - Late nights - Campouts - Lazy beach days - Touring new places - Catching up with family - making new friends - water parks with your kiddos….

This is living! For many of my coaching clients, some of these wonderful events were a bit stressful as they navigated trying to learn a more balance way of eating. Some check-in’s said, ā€œI messing upā€ or ā€œI lack self controlā€ but Summer can be one of the more difficult times to track macros or control your eating because of all the wonderful events it brings! IT’S OKAY! GIVE YOURSELF GRACE! Life, good or bad will throw in some challenges when it comes to making healthy lifestyle choices. Take it a day at a time. Some days will go great, some days you’ll slip up and IT’S OKAY!! Keep moving forward!

What were the best moments of your Summer? I was able to travel to Denmark with my hubby! It was a dream come true!

Like Austin Powers, I’ve been searching to get my MoJo back. It’s been missing. Have you lost yours?

I remember the days where I felt invincible. My eating was on point, I’d jump out of bed each morning, race to the gym for another killer workout. I felt so much purpose and direction from God in the things I was doing and achieving. Currently, not feeling it. That MoJo is missing, so what do I do?

Reevaluate and get to work! Nike had it right, JUST DO IT. Get out of bed, start on your knees and ask for guidance from above then get to work. No, you usually won’t ā€œfeelā€ like doing the things you know you should do, but go through the motions anyways. Fake it til you make it. By mid workout, I’m so happy I’m there putting in the effort. At the end of a day of deliberate, controlled eating, I’m grateful I stuck to it. Not just physically but also emotionally proud of my work. Then the next day, I get out of bed and do it again. Nothing fancy or revolutionary but I’ll eventually get that MoJo back. It’s always been there, I just have to put the effort in again to find it.

The last two months have brought amazing highs and devastating lows. I’ve been in my own head a lot lately and I’ll be honest, I’ve been in a funk. Some things we have complete control over in life, while others are just handed to us to deal with. Things don’t alway go as planned. Despite our best efforts, we’re not always in control of our circumstances and we must learn to adapt on this roller coaster of life.

I started this account to help others discover macro counting and show how it can help change the direction of your life. I know, pretty dramatic, but I truly believe that tracking macros catapulted me into changing so many aspects of my life in such a positive way. I still want to share so much about macros and how to have success, but ā€œhealthy livingā€ is so much more then what you see on the outside or even about the food that fuels your body. It’s finding balance. Balance with life as a WHOLE! It’s always been about MIND, BODY, & SPIRIT for me and striving for that balance. I feel this so much deeper now then I’ve ever felt before. I hope you’ll join me as we all seek this balance. šŸ’›

I’ve been loving this salad lately and wanted to share! The mix of flavors are incredible and I’ve made it multiple times in the last few weeks!

Here are the ingredients:
•Spring Mix greens 🄬
•Pomegranate seeds
•Orange slices - diced
•Feta Cheese - low fat
•Walnuts
•Greek yogurt based -Poppyseed dressing
•Topped with Grilled Chicken to add that protein! šŸ‘ŠšŸ¼

My new obsession. Desert runs! šŸŒµšŸƒšŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø I know, I know, running? really?! This coming from someone who preaches weight lifting and muscle work on the daily? YES! I’m in love with everything about it! I started out a runner and here I am again, back at it šŸ˜‰ I love the sweat, the challenge of watching each step, the beautiful scenery...and you can’t beat this AZ weather right now! 🌤
It started with some hiking that was good for the soul and as evolved into running/hiking long distance in the desert šŸ˜‚It’s seriously the best workout I’ve had in months. I’m sore every week and even lost a toenail last run 😬 but I cannot wait to get back out there.
Once again I am reminded that it’s SO important to keep doing the workouts that I LOVE even if it isn’t always the specific type of exercise that fits my goals.
Do what keeps you excited to get that workout gear on and out the door!

NEVER should something this delicious be eliminated from your diet! Like, EVER. What I love most about tracking macros is the freedom to eat the things I enjoy. Nothing is off limits, nothing is eliminated, I just choose the way I fill my calories with a good balance of nutrients. Sure, there are times when I’m looking to shed extra pounds, so I simply limit my portions or change up the ingredients a bit, but I can still have that pizza without guilt, even daily if I want!
Whether you’re looking to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight, having an idea of the amount you need as a guideline is always helpful. That’s what having a good macro count can do for you. Give your body what it needs to fuel your life. You can follow it that macro count loosely or precisely, it’s up to you, but it will give you a balanced, long term way of eating for your goals. www.themacroslife.com

Consistency. If you’re a client, you are sick of hearing this word! Consistency is the key to change. The more consistent you become with your healthy eating and workouts, the more change and progress you’ll make. Let’s not get ā€œconsistentā€ mixed up with ā€œperfectā€ because no can be perfect in their eating or workouts, but you can keep on trying and start over again and again! Keep at it until that consistency turns into good habits, which then turns into change. ā¤ļø
