Meet our newest team member, Remy!

"I am originally from Southern California. Having visited Arizona often due to my now husband Tyler being from Gilbert, I fell in love with Arizona's beautiful landscape and uniqueness. I am a Licensed Aesthetician and have a passion for holistic beauty and wellness. I enjoy hiking with my husband and our dog Mojito, throwing pottery, and cooking new recipes as often as I can. I am so excited to be a part of the Luna team and to be a part of your wellness journey!"

Favorite Health Tip:
"Grounding and a healthy level of sunshine exposure!"

How her best friend would describe her:
"My best friend would describe me as loyal, that I love to laugh, and am always willing to be the "planner/mom" of the group!"

Hydration + Warmth

Staying warm and hydrated is key to maintaining your health and comfort in this cooler season. Living in the Sonoran desert is beautiful, but doesn’t it just suck us dry! By embracing these practices, you can enjoy a cozy, hydrated - and dare I say glowing - winter season.

1. For warmth, start by layering clothing to create a barrier against the cold, ensuring that your skin remains protected from the elements. Scarves to protect from a stiff neck and tension and socks (even around the house) are my go tos.
2. Incorporate warming foods into your diet, such as root vegetables, garlic, ginger, and hearty stews, which not only warm you up but are typically in season. *Avoid cold, raw, or iced beverages which can lower your body temperature.
3. Hydration is just as important during the winter months, despite the tendency to drink less. We tend to have a reduced thirst perception in the cold weather suppressing our signals making us less aware of our hydration needs. Opt for warm beverages like herbal teas, such as ginger root tea.
4. Using a humidifier in your home can help maintain moisture in the air, safeguarding your respiratory system and skin from. The arid climate pulls moisture from your body. Regularly apply rich moisturizers, such as shea butter or jojoba oil, to keep your skin supple and prevent winter dryness.

I had the chance to sit down with my midwife Diane. She just started a podcast called .midwife.life.co and we chat about Chinese medicine! It’s just a drop in the bucket with all the knowledge to share, but I loved talking with her and sharing how I got into it.

Can’t wait for you to take a listen! Link in bio 🎙️

Our Story

Hi Love!

My name is Kari-Ann Hubbard I’m a local acupuncturist and herbalist in the East Valley and am located within the Willow Birth Center. I’m nationally board certified through NCCAOM and licensed by the state of Arizona. I’ve been practicing officially for over 5 years now. My focus is allowing and creating a safe space for clients to heal, express their concerns and work with them where they’re at currently in their healing journey. Wellness plans focus on lifestyle as well as the sessions received at Luna Acupuncture.

Some of the concerns I help with are migraines, PMS, discomfort during pregnancy, labor prep, fertility, anxiety and depression, hormone imbalances, palliative cancer care and insomnia.

My love of Oriental medicine (that’s acupuncture, herbs, cupping and more) started early as I saw that holistic approaches helped me personally. I suffered from IBS and anxiety at a young age and when I made the connection between the mind and body (both influencing each other) I was able to heal. Years before, my grandfather mentioned Chinese medicine as an integrative therapy, which I then found to be perfect fit for my path in medicine.
