What is a Doula?
A doula is like the ultimate birth-day sidekick—part cheerleader, part coach, part calm-in-the-chaos guru. When things get intense, they’re the one reminding you to breathe, relax your shoulders, and maybe even laugh a little between contractions. They don’t deliver the baby (that’s the medical team’s job), but they do deliver steady support, encouragement, and a whole lot of reassurance.
Think of a doula as your personal hype person for one of life’s biggest moments. They’ll help you find comfy positions, suggest ways to manage pain, and keep the vibes as peaceful (or upbeat!) as you want them. Whether it’s dim lights and quiet breathing or music and positive affirmations, they’re there to help create your kind of birth experience.
In short: a doula is the friend you didn’t know you needed—right there by your side, helping you feel strong, supported, and ready to meet your baby.
