To clear up some “rumors”, that have been posted on Facebook lately:
Rumor 1, there is NO intention of raising anyone’s membership rates. The new owner is planning to make some new additions to the gym and if members would like to participate in these programs, they are free to do so, probably at an increased membership rate. The $30 per month will continue for those that do want the new services though.
Rumor 2, there WILL continue to be TV, radio, internet, and AC. There is currently a brief disconnect in the TV, radio, and internet services while these services get switched over. Please mind you we all have other full-time jobs and commitments and there are A LOT of services and programs that need to be switched over to the new owner. We are trying to make these as efficiently as possible. The AC system HAS BEEN operational the entire time and WILL continue to be. As for your trainer, he is more than welcome to continue his training at Maple City Muscles and we hope he will. We support his business and have since the beginning, that is why he has been allowed to train there for FREE for the last approximate 2 years. There has been discussion though that he may now be required to pay a small fee for using the facility for his personal business. Please remember the new owner is also trying to establish his business and this is how businesses operate.
Rumor 3, the new owner did not even take over until the beginning of May. His number has been posted on the Facebook post that you could have called or messaged him if you had questions, rather than blast such a negative post on social media. We know you follow the page because you had no problem posting another negative post on our page when we announced our closing, and oddly enough you did not comment or like when we announced that the gym would be able to remain open under new ownership. I’m not sure why you have such hard feelings and are so upset about this switch. The gym gets to remain open and nothing has changed with your membership or any other membership. We never wanted to close the gym and had hoped all along that somebody would step up and take it over. For the best interest of the Arnold family for various personal reasons the hard decision was made that we can no longer dedicate the time it takes to operate the gym. There WERE several talks with other individuals about taking over the gym before we announced our closing. Your trainer was offered the gym SEVERAL YEARS AGO and also made another offer this time. Unfortunately, none of those talks came to fruition and we had to do what was in the best interest of our family. We will continue to fully support the new owner and do whatever it takes to keep the gym operating to the level it has for the last 13 years. This gym has survived the trials of starting from nothing in the beginning, to the struggles of closing the doors during Covid, and it will survive the change of ownership. We hope that all current members will continue to support Maple City Muscles the way they have in the past. It takes the support of an entire community to make a small-town business successful. In the future, if you have questions, please just ask and don’t post such negative rumors.
