Am I going to be so sore tomorrow? Probably. Am I going to love it? 100% yes 😃 I went for a speed workout today and it felt like I hadn’t ran fast in a year lol—it’s really only been a couple of weeks but the time away from actual ‘training’ sure does feel like I got so out of shape. I’m reminding myself that this always happens and I end up feeling much better after this first week back 🙃

I plugged in a fartlek workout in my coros and did what I could 👊🏼 I also did a pretty heavy glute workout after this so yeah, I’ll be feeling this all tomorrow 😅

Anyway, it’s a new year and I’ve got fast running and firm glutes on the goal line!
👉🏼 What are you working on?

My goal this year was to race every month but I was over it by June after dealing with those ultra long runs for so many months 😂 I did race quite a few times—not more than lots of you all, but more than I usually do! I accomplished some new big goals, too, like racing my first ultra distance and completing another major—the Chicago marathon that I was supposed to race back in 2020 and it took me up until this year to get myself in the mood 🤩 I haven’t even thought about more running goals yet for 2026, but I know it will be a fun time regardless of what I train for!

What cool goals did you accomplish this year?

My running routine is way more than just logging miles 🏃🏻‍♀️ I stock up on new supplements and fuel essentials every couple of months—protein, creatine, and electrolytes are always on the top of the list. has it all and the best part is you can find over 450 products so you know what you’re getting has been tested and is safe ✅ It’s so easy to filter what you want online, so you can shop for everything you need in just a couple of minutes. If you’re an athlete looking for safe & effective products to help optimize your performance, make Vitacost your go-to 💪🏼 use code STEPHANIE20SC to get 20% through all of January ⭐️ ⭐️

sorry (not sorry) for the break from running content, but I’m honestly not running much nor prioritizing it right now 🫣 well, bc just look at where I’m at!! We took all year to plan this trip and I can’t believe it’s all happening now. You already saw I started in NYC and flew from there to Milan. But the real excitement for me was getting to Switzerland. We took the Bernina Express train from Tirano, Italy to St. Moritz—I highly recommend this experience (and even more so the next train we took after this one! If you didn’t see it in my stories I’ll be sharing about it soon 🤓)

2 days in this adorable town were filled with sightseeing all the holiday decor and lots of eating, of course. As much as I love my hot weather at home, I’m in awe of this side of the world 😍

Definitely put this on your bucket list!

Have ya been to Switzerland?!

28 hours in NYC 🗽 I’m a sucker for all the christmas-y things no matter how touristy they are lol. This city is so magical this time of year, I wish I could’ve stayed longer but I’m off to an even more winter wonderland part of the world 🎄

Guess where!👇🏼

Mid-week long run shenanigans 🤪 I can’t run this weekend so I banged out my 2-hour run before takeoff. I’m really loving setting up my runs as workouts in my watch so that I don’t have to see it count up to (or down from) a whopping 15 miles. The last slide shows what I programmed for this week’s run 😃

I’ll emphasize a million times if I can how much better it feels to fuel enough during long runs! I had a 160 gel every 4 miles + 1 salt tab every 25 minutes 👍🏼

Stay tuned for the next 2 weeks to join in on my vacation adventures ✈️

I can’t emphasize enough how important training ‘down’ weeks are 💯 and now that I started including them year round, I’ve never felt better! Whether I’m training for a race or not, I’ve been taking a recovery week every 3-4 weeks—I’ll lower my mileage, go lighter on the weights at the gym, add in more mobility, and evaluate my pain points. I’ll check in on my usual trouble areas, like my knees and back and apply KT Tape (PRO Extreme and PRO Ice are my favorites!) and use the Ice Therapy Pack and Sleeve a couple of times a day. My collections has grown so much this year since it’s helped me heal from my injuries and has honestly made my body feel amazing 😌 It’s all linked in my bio!

I get lots of questions on the topic of easy runs 🏃🏻‍♀️ I think social media confuses people and over complicates something that should be pretty simple. Your easy runs should be stress-free. Yes, it’s helpful to use the heart rate method but even that can stress out some runners. I like to go by effort, since after all ‘easy’ is an effort, not a number. Just make sure your run FEELS easy—you shouldn’t be overly tired after these sessions. I personally rarely look at my pace or heart rate on easy days, bc I don’t care what number it shows as long as I fulfilled the purpose of that run. The number does not matter.

What’s your training method for easy runs: pace, heart rate, or effort?

The holiday season is my favorite time of the year 🤶🏻 but I get super overwhelmed from all the things I need to get done before January, and I’m even more limited with time, because I’ll be traveling this month as well 😮‍💨 One of my favorite recovery tools, OmegaXL Sport, is helping me get through it all though (and you know it will be first in my bag when I pack for my trip!). With just 3 main ingredients—Green-lipped mussel oil, Olive Oils, and Vitamin E, it’s clinically shown to accelerate recovery and improve soreness. My body has never felt better as it has this year since taking it! It’s the perfect little stocking stuffer for anyone looking to ramp up their fitness next year 🎁
