Our Plant Oil Complex features the highly prized Neroli Essential Oil, renowned for its ability to reduce redness and irritation. Beneficial for all skin types, particularly dry, sensitive skin with broken capillaries, Neroli helps rejuvenate the skin by stimulating cell regeneration and improving elasticity. This powerful oil prevents and repairs wrinkles while also promoting smoother skin and improving hyperpigmentation. It's especially effective in treating acne, reducing redness associated with breakouts.

Our Neroli is sustainably harvested from orange trees grown in Khemisset, Morocco. It takes over five years for these trees to produce their first blossoms, which bloom once a year between April and May. The blossoms are handpicked in clusters by a women’s organization and hydro-distilled within 24 hours to ensure the purest oil.

Did you know it takes around 1,000 lbs. of orange blossoms to yield just 1 lb. of Neroli oil? This precious oil is rare, with less than 2,000 kg produced annually worldwide.

At Ingredients@ Wellness, our reasons for avoiding petrochemicals in personal care products are both ethical and environmental.

Petrochemical ingredients, derived from fossil fuels such as petroleum, natural gas, and coal, are unsustainable for several key reasons. As fossil fuels are finite resources, their continued use contributes to environmental degradation and deepens our dependency on non-renewable energy sources. Petrochemical extraction and production processes are energy-intensive, leading to significant environmental impacts including habitat destruction, soil and water pollution, and substantial carbon emissions that contribute to climate change.

In addition to their carbon footprint, petrochemical ingredients pose long-term pollution problems. These substances do not break down easily in the environment and can persist for years, polluting ecosystems and waterways. Some petrochemicals are toxic to aquatic life, further damaging ecosystems by disrupting the balance of marine biodiversity.

One particularly concerning aspect of petrochemical use in personal care products is the presence of microplastics. These tiny synthetic polymers, such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), are added to formulations to improve product texture, function, or shelf life.

Microplastics, however, are a growing environmental threat as they accumulate in oceans and waterways, where they harm marine life and may enter the food chain, potentially affecting human health. Their persistence in the environment, lack of biodegradability, and contribution to marine pollution make them an unsustainable choice.

We are committed to breaking this petrochemical cycle by focusing on plant-based alternatives. Our personal care products contain 8 ingredients or less, each selected for its effectiveness and each listed with its percentage on the front of the bottle. Fewer ingredients mean a smaller carbon footprint—by reducing the number of components, we decrease the resources needed for cultivation, including water consumption, CO2 emissions, and the energy used for planting, harvesting, and processing.

In contrast, products with 40+ ingredients require more intensive resources, contributing to a larger environmental impact. By avoiding petrochemicals, which are known for high greenhouse gas emissions and pollution, we’re taking another step toward protecting the planet. Simpler formulas, better results, lower environmental impact. 🌍
