The primary function of the Organization is to help
college bound students by giving them financial assistance
to help with some of the expenses of entering college. The organization’s final
function is to assist in promoting social skills, giving
athletic scholarships, and honoring those who are
committed to helping the youth in the State of Florida. Ongoing Functions and Plans of the Organization
1. Keep developing the annual Awards Banquet which
recognizes those individuals who make contributions to
the youth in the surrounding counties, and keep the
quality of competition at a high level.
2. Help with financial assistance in promoting The Louie
Bing Track Meet Classic which is an annual event. We
assist the host school in some of the financial
responsibilities of a Meet of this magnitude. The Track
Meet Classic is held on the last weekend in February or
the first weekend in March.
3. Help with financial assistance in The Florida State
Track Hall of Fame which recognizes those individuals
over the state that has made an impact on the lives of our
youth. The Annual Florida State Track Hall of Fame
Banquet is hosted by the Organization, The Bob Hayes
Foundation and the Sports of Florida Organization.
4. Help with financial assistance in promoting The Bob
Cook Relays, formerly the Miami High Relays. This is an
annual event and schools statewide are invited to attend. The Track Meet has been in place for over 54 years. The Meet is
held in March. Miami Northwestern Sr. High is the host
school.
5. Help with financial assistance in promoting Lee Perry
Football Coaching Clinic which is an annual event. We
put the Clinic on with hopes that it will help to prepare
our coaches to better serve the youth in this State. The
Clinic is held on the last weekend in April.
6. Assist Miami Southridge School by sponsoring their
annual Middle School Track Meet. This is an important
event for the Middle School young girls and boys.
7. Sponsor the Dade County Football Coaches
Association’s Annual Recruiting Fair for Small College
players. Colleges from all over the United States are
invited to participate. The Recruiting Fair is held in the
month of February.
8. Sponsor a recruiting room for Miami-Dade, Broward,
Monroe and Palm Beach counties’ coaches to introduce
their athletes to over 5,000 coaches nationwide. Each of these functions will help to develop our youth
and encourage them to become productive citizens. These
functions allow the individuals who go the extra mile to be
recognized for their accomplishments statewide.
