This flexitarian day on a plate was a real winner🌱🌈!

✅BF: Natural muesli with Greek yoghurt and some frozen blueberries (we added milk post shot)⁠
✅Lunch: One big tuna salad featuring every vegetable you could possible imagine (haha seriously though) and some quinoa⁠
✅Dinner: Homemade soup⁠ (recipe coming... it’s so good!)
✅Snacks: Choc chip cookies, plums, nuts and strawberries⁠
✅Drinks: We made a big bottle of carbonated water and added in some delicious fruit 🍓🍋🍉to give it a naturally sweet flavour which was sooo yummy to sip on throughout the day!

While we know Nutella has a strong cult following that is probably going to be hating on us after this post, we wanted to compare it to good ol' fashion natural peanut butter, the latter of which is a much healthier alternative in almost all aspects of nutrition! The peanut butter option has fewer calories, significantly less sugar, more fiber, and double the protein on top of being more nutrient-dense! As a result, especially considering the higher amount of protein and fiber, it is significantly more filling than Nutella, leading you to be fuller for longer!⠀

There are much healthier alternatives than Nutella despite how tasty it is! Perhaps scrapping it for peanut butter for example can be a viable option for a much healthier snack!⠀

When trying to lose weight, there are many ways to go about it. But before discussing which method is most effective for fat loss, it is important to point out that the most effective strategy to lose weight will be the one that you enjoy doing most.💯

We all know that in order to lose weight, we need to be in a calorie deficit, meaning our body uses up more energy than we consume. You can either only diet, or combine dieting with cardio or strength training.👌

I would never recommend only dieting to lose weight because doing no exercise means that you have to eat an extremely low amount of calories. Doing this after a while will result in your physique appearing skinny and maybe even ‘weak’.😢

For those who absolutely despise strength training, doing cardio while dieting will help you lose weight too. Doing cardio is great for your health and will help you stay fit, but it won’t give you that lean and toned and muscular look that most people desire.✅

The best option is the combination of dieting and strength training and even a bit of cardio for those who work hard. Strength training allows you to build or retain muscle mass, really giving you that lean toned and athletic look. Having more muscle mass also means having a higher metabolism which makes it a lot easier to STAY LEAN!🚀

mental - this is the biggest factor when it comes to losing weight. Your mentality is what motivates you and pushes you to work towards your goals. doing mental work like meditation, journaling, and therapy can help us find appreciation for our body and rewire our brain to positive thinking this will help negative thinking and negative thoughts around our self image & body

physical - doing the physical work such as exercising and eating healthier are crucial when it comes to weight loss. Working on our mindset is what motivates us to make those healthier choices every day. ever notice if you’re in a crappy mood you tend to eat crappy food? or vise versa, if you eat like all day you feel tired, sluggish, groggy, bloated and like

none of these things can exist without the other. Not only do you need to be mindful about what you’re eating and how you’re moving your body, but you also need to work on your mindset as well!

What is your fitness goal and what is your diet comprised of?🍕

Liquid calories and solid calories both have their purposes when it comes to dieting depending on what goal someone is after.

When trying to lose fat, you want to avoid all kinds of liquid calories. Liquid calories can almost be seen as a ‘waste’ of calories as they do barely anything in terms of filling you up. When dieting you want your calories to derive from solid calories and whole foods (real food), in order to prevent being hungry as much as possible.✅

Fat loss is all about focusing on foods that are super high in volume and low in calories. Watermelon, Berries, celery, greens, salad are all great foods.👌

On the other hand, if your goal is to build muscle and gain weight, liquid calories can be your saviour. Many people are very slim by nature and and don’t often have a big appetite. With liquid calories you can consume 300 calories without requiring an appetite to eat.

If you are a hard gainer, you really want to consume as much liquid calories as possible. Especially if you have trouble eating large amounts of food.

I LOVE FRIES! 🍟

Fun fact: growing up, I would always pick savory over sweet 😱 I know right! How times have changed 😅🤣 My ultimate favorite food was fries! I honestly, could just eat a whole plate of them.

These days not much has changed except for the fact that I love my sweets 🍫 & also get creative with my fries! If you want a calorie saving hack: try baking your fries with oil spray or air frying them! So much better than deep frying and honestly is just as delicious!

*Calories provided are per 100g

1. 🍠 Sweet potato: I like to sprinkle mine with some cinnamon, and sea salt
2. 🥕 Carrot: these are absolutely delicious! Even yummier with some sesame seed sprinkled on top, Cajun spice and sea salt!
3. 🥔 Potato: enough said. Potato fries have gotten a bad rep in the past, but potatoes can be healthy if it’s not deep fried! I like to air fry mine with some onion powder and sea salt.
4. 🥒 Zucchini: I like these extra crispy with zaatar, olive oil and lemon!
5. 🍌 Banana : SO good! Bake in your airfryer at 200 degrees Celsius for 6-8 minutes until golden!
6. 🧡Butternut: delicious with some paprika, cinnamon and sea salt!

Both these portions have the same calories, yet the bread on the right has way more nutrients than the rice crackers 😳 Yep! It's true! 🙌🏼

Per slice this bread has 4g of protein, 13g of carbs and 2g of fiber 🌱 WHILE the 2 crackers have 2g of protein, 16g of carbs and 0g of fiber... ⠀

Many eat this type of crackers (sometimes 3, 4 or 5 at a time 😱) instead of bread thinking it's "healthier" and they're keeping their calories down... But when you add up, you would be better off eating 1 or 2 slices of bread, getting more protein and fiber 💪🏼

So don't be afraid of bread, if you choose the right one you can actually be doing yourself a pretty good favour instead. 👀🔥
