Proud to share our latest work in the Journal of Orthopaedics:
“Array pin placement in robotic-assisted total hip arthroplasty: Optimal trajectory to avoid neurovascular injury”

In this study, we used MRI imaging to analyze the optimal trajectory for pelvic array pin placement in robotic-assisted total hip arthroplasty (RATHA), aiming to minimize neurovascular injury and maximize stability.

💡 Key takeaway: Choosing the correct caudal angle is critical to avoid major neurovascular structures while ensuring the distal tip of the pin is fully in bone.

🔊 Noise in the OR: A Hidden Risk for Surgeons! 🔊 Most people don’t think about noise exposure in the operating room, but our latest research shows that surgeons performing robotic-assisted knee replacements (TKA) are exposed to noise levels that could damage their hearing! 🏥👂

📊 What We Found:
✅ Manual TKA: 92.7 dB
✅ Robotic TKA System A: 97.6 dB 🚨 (Highest noise exposure!)
✅ Robotic TKA System B: 92.7 dB

🚨 Why It Matters:
Noise above 85 dB over time can cause permanent hearing loss. Our study shows that robotic TKA System A exceeds this safety limit, exposing surgeons to even higher noise risks.

👨‍⚕️ What Can Be Done?
Most people wear ear protection in noisy environments, but surgeons rely on clear communication in the OR. The solution? Developing quieter robotic systems and raising awareness of this overlooked hazard.
