are some of the most challenging cases. One has to understand the meticulous anatomy of the hand, the excessive force the patient places on such structures, and what their current needs are. At the end it’s very rewarding being able to provide surgical care to allow our patients to get back to normal!

Orchids are one of my passions. The Orchidaceae has about 28,000 species! That’s about four times the number of mammal species! Vanilla planifolia is an orchid. It is native to Mexico! That’s correct, two things you are finding out today. One is that I am half Mexican, the other is that Vanilla is an orchid! Lastly, most of us think of orchids flourish in the tropics, but they are also found above the Arctic Circle. Patagonia, I’m the southern tip of Argentina has two species of Orchids!

Breast reconstruction after cancer is a very difficult task. Sometimes it can be very challenging. This patient presented with implant . She developed type of symptoms. She has skin over those implants, and you can clearly see the rippling of the implant on the skin. No definition of any . No , and no lower pole. The is nonexistent. She has two balls on her chest. You can see the of her mastectomy basically stuck to her ribs. Here we reconstruct her chest wall, her breasts, and we defined the anatomy giving her the natural looking breasts with her own fat that she deserves! No transfer of any muscles, and no large scars in order to give her natural looking breasts.

Seymour fractures happen in kids! Typically the fracture is displaced right at the growth plate, which is critical for the growth of the finger. These are bad fractures and can lead to infections, lack of growth of the finger, and functional problems. Plastic surgeons are at the frontline and trained in dealing with pediatric fractures like these. This is one of the worst one I have seen. Under local anesthetic we fixed my little man!
