A lot of the people I work with learned early on that the easiest way to keep the peace was to be accommodating, agreeable, and low-maintenance.

Apologizing becomes a way to soften your presence so no one feels uncomfortable.

But over time it can start shaping how you see yourselfl like your needs, questions, or boundaries require permission.

Breaking the sorry habit isn’t about being blunt or inconsiderate. It’s about slowly learning that your voice belongs in the room too.
