Ocean Ki Acupuncture is a clinic in Middletown, Rhode Island, with a mission, as a Wellness Team. This will determine the plan for treatment.

During a Hari Style Acupuncture Treatment, our patients can expect the doctor to stay with him or her throughout the duration of the treatment. By remaining with the patient, the doctor is able to react to the patient’s pulse and meridians, leading to a holistic and individualized treatment with each and every visit. During a Chinese Style Acupuncture Treatment, our patients can expect the doctor to take a health history from the patient, which helps determine a treatment plan for the patient. The doctor will place needles for treatment, let the patient rest and check on the patients throughout treatment. During a Massage Therapy, Manual Lymph Drainage Therapy or CranioSacral Therapy treatment, our clients can expect the practitioner to sit with an individual to determine their health needs and goals. Each of these modalities allow for the practitioner to be with the client throughout the treatment leading to a holistic healing environment. About Ocean Ki Acupuncture, Inc.’s Name
Ocean Ki Acupuncture found its name in the desert, of all places. Dr. Jackson was in Albuquerque, NM getting ready to graduate and brainstorming names for her clinic that she would be starting when returning home. She knew the ocean was a huge draw for her to go back home and had to be integrated into her clinic’s name somehow. Dr. Jackson, also, remembered an explanation she heard her teacher share with one of his patients about Ki. He explained that, if we are able to connect our Ki (Essential Life Force Energy) to the vast and deep ocean, we would never be depleted of energy. This is because the ocean, in its vast abundance, is always moving, generating and full of Ki. By piecing together these two aspects of her life, Dr. Jackson had found the name for her Acupuncture Clinic. It is her goal to be able to share abundant Ki to all the patients and clients who walk into her clinic. At Ocean Ki Acupuncture, Inc, our team of Acupuncturists and our Massage Therapist look forward to assisting our patients in finding the balance and harmony they are searching for through the use of the Traditional Japanese Hari-Style & Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, Manual Lymph Drainage, Massage Therapy and Craniosacral Therapy.

Our Story

Dr. Jackson graduated from Southwest Acupuncture College, where she studied with Dr. Ehrland Truitt learning the gentle, yet powerful form of Japanese Hari-Style Acupuncture. Dr. Jackson has also studied Hari-Style Acupuncture with master T. Koei Kuwahara, L.Ac. Dr. Jackson had the opportunity and privilage to travel with master acupuncturist Kuwahara and Dr. Truitt to study in Japan with their lineage of master acupuncturists in September of 2011. Dr. Jackson has made a second trip back to Japan with Mr. Kuwahara in April of 2015 to learn from more master acupuncturists. Dr. Jackson not only continued her studies in Meridian Therapy treatments for adults in Japan, but she continued her studies in Pediatric treatments, as well. Dr. Jackson was able to continue her studies with Masanori Tanioka Sensei, one of the leading acupuncturist of Pediatric treatments in Japan. Hari-Style Acupuncture is an unique form of Japanese Meridian Therapy. It is a form of acupuncture that focusses on treating the root cause of disease while also effectively treating the immediate symptoms through balancing the body’s Ki. Practitioners of Hari have developed an ability to perceive ki through the practice of pulse diagnosis, and ki diagnosis. Refined and specialized needle techniques are used to help search out and move the body's ki. Dr. Jackson has also studied at Community College of Rhode Island, where she trained in Massage Therapy and has over 10 years experience in that field. Over the 10 years, Dr. Jackson has studied multiple different massage styles and body work. Her heart and hands were drawn to and love practicing Craniosacral Therapy. She studied CST with the Upledger Institute in the beginning of 2007. At Ocean Ki Acupuncture, Dr. Jackson looks forward to assisting her patients in finding the balance and harmony they are searching for through the use of the Japanese Hari-Style Acupuncture, Craniosacral Therapy and Massage Therapy. Ocean Ki Acupuncture has two satellite offices available to accommodate the residents of the East Bay area of Rhode Island and surrounding Massachusetts. These satellite offices are located at 259 Thames Street in Bristol, RI, where Dr. Jackson sees patients on Mondays at this location and 18 Baker Street in Warren, Rhode Island, where Dr. Jackson sees patients on Thursdays at this location.
