it’s not random. it’s a circadian drop in alertness plus the point where your body has processed lunch. coffee delays the feeling, it doesn’t change the pattern.

when you eat the same things consistently, your gut physically restructures around those inputs. the bacteria that process what you eat regularly multiply. the ones you stop feeding die off. after enough time, your body starts craving the inputs it's been trained on, not because of willpower, but because the biology has actually shifted.

when you eat while stressed, your body redirects blood flow away from the gut toward your muscles and heart. motility shifts, stomach acid changes, and your ability to absorb nutrients is reduced.

the same meal eaten in two different states produces two different outcomes.

slowing down before you eat makes a huge difference. it's giving your body the conditions it actually needs to process what you're feeding it.

it passes through your system intact, feeding beneficial bacteria along the way, binding to waste, and helping move everything through. it’s less about what your body takes from it and more about what it helps your body let go of 🧹
