Everything happens for a reason. Every single moment you have has its reasons behind it happening, or -in this case- the lack of it. Today, I made a tough decision - After choosing to push myself beyond the breaking point, or to listen to my body and trust what is happening. Unfortuently, I will not be running in this weekends Half Marathon that I have been training for for the past 6 months. During the past two weeks, I have pushed myself too hard which caused an injury in my foot that lead to a serious infection. When waking this morning and not being able to walk, I knew in the back of my mind that all my hard work may be put at a halt. After being examined by the doctors, it was determined that I will not be able to participate this coming Sunday. At first, I fought this “advice” thinking if I took a day or two of my feet, I would be fine. Yet, by the end of the day, I decided to listen to my body.

Somethings pit stops get in the way. You may get hurt. Sick. Tired. This happens, and its okay. The most important thing to learn is to LISTEN and TRUST your body. TRUST the process. TAKE CARE of your body. I am extremely thankful for all of those who have been supporting me throughput my few months of training. I would like to especially thank and for inspiring me to start running journey and challenge myself to this sign up for this race. Thank you and for helping me grow both mentally and physically. Although I may not be running this weekend, I have deferred my race to the next race in the AC Series on April 3th 2022. I encourage everyone to take a chance, start running. Post Vacation Blues 😩
this morning I woke up feeling a little bit uneasy and uncomfortable with my body and my weekly past nutritional choices. I made the unfortunate and stupid decision to step on a scale, a week after excessive drinking and eating. After a second, I took a step back and had to remind myself that it was only a FEW days, but every single day taken in this past vacation was a amazing and wonderful moment - 100% worth all the sugar and margaritas!
In our lives there will be plenty of days, months, and maybe even years where we will find ourselves struggling to reach our goals and/or being consistent in the process we plan to reach them. Yet, it is a more important to realize that happiness and living in the moment is more important in our overall well-being then sticking to a healthy nutritional plan and lifestyle 24/7. Indulging in things and or foods that make you happy, will make a huge impact and improvement in your overall mental mindset. Don’t look back and regret anything, you are stronger than you think! Keep moving forward, don’t hold yourself back. You GOT this! Eat the cake, AND ICING TOO! 🎉😏💕

Middletown 9/11 5k with team !! 🥇Glad to have a supportive community to encourage me to keep on moving forward and who hold me accountable in achieving my goals! So happy and blessed to spend this morning remembers all those who lost their lives 20 years ago. Never Forget, always remember. Fuel your body, whether it be for your health or your soul.

STOP looking at food as the enemy, it is your best friend. It is what helps you grow. Helps you succeed. Makes you strong.

Battling food, looking at it in a negative light WILL only HURT you. Feeding you body, fueling it with the nutrition it needs will help you reach your goals whether it’s increasing muscle mass, losing body fat or just living a healthy and happy life. Enjoy life, enjoy food - Every. Single. Bite.

Hey y’all! Starting today, I decided to start the Whole 30 so I can be my healthiest and happiest self before my big trip to MEXICO! 💃🏼🌮 30 days, real food, real me!! Just a little reminder from my post back in January:

A lot of people may know what the whole 30 is, but in case you don’t, here are the basics: For 30 days, one can only consume Whole Foods (no artificial or man made). It is designed to change your life by eliminating cravings, rebalancing hormones, curing digestive issues, improving medical conditions and boosting energy and immune function. The theory behind it is that all sorts of physical and mental health issues – ranging from acne to depression to allergies – could be due to your diet. But you can’t know which foods are to blame for what ails you unless you cut out all traces of sugar, alcohol, grains, dairy and legumes for 30 days. By day 31, you’ll be free from your food fog and may not even miss your nightly wine ritual or morning muffin fix. If and when you reintroduce food groups, your body’s reaction will tell you which foods you should continue to avoid – or at least limit. ( ) 🥰😎

Body brought to you by Orangetheory 🍊😉 Back in February I started my Journey at OTF, jumping straight in with the annual ‘Transformation Challenge’ -an 8 week fat loss challenge. I had never been on for group workouts in the past, nor any other cardio other than the elliptical. HIIT classes? Nope, never. For years, I have created and maintained the same weekly workout plan, never giving myself a change to experience other forms of exercise. Although hesitant at first, I went head first into OTF classes 3x a week and noticed a difference almost immediately. From a power walker to a jogger within 2 months, and then a jogger to a runner 1 month after, I have overal became STRONGER and HAPPIER inside and out
Above, on the left is January 31. On the right, May 1. Only thing changed is switching it up to adding OTF 2-3x a week, and adding an additional 500 calories to my daily diet (yes, ADDING). THREE MONTHS, 3 months and a WHOLE lot of CHANGE. Stronger, healthier and HAPPIER 💅🏼 I know it may seem silly, but I can not emphasize enough how important it is to switch up your workouts. Either weekly, monthly, daily or randomly. Your body needs to go through change in order for it to change. YOU are entirely in charge of yourself. If it’s not working for you, have you thought about trying something new? Don’t be scared to, you never know what could happen! Take it from me, Orangetheory’s biggest fan 🥰
For those who don’t know, Orangetheory is a heart rate-based interval training group work out. There’s a few classes offered, but my favorite is the 2G class!! You spend half of the time either between the treadmill and the rowers, and the other half on the floor OR some sort of mix of all 3. In all, you’re getting 60 minutes of both strength training and cardio, increasing and decreasing your heart rate in order to reach after burn (or EPOC). Proven to burn more calories post workout and guided by certified coaches, there is no way you can go wrong. Give it a try! Try something new!! Take one big step towards a healthier and happier life, it never hurts to try 😉☺️😋

Feeling Healthy and Happy Today! After a week of stress, I started hitting rue gym hard again! Getting at least 1hour of a sweat in is my GOAL everyday. Don’t get me wrong, I take my rest days very seriously - but still do some active recovery with a good stretch to keep the blood flowing. Today’s focus was on the LOWER BODY! Below is my glute and leg day burn done this morning 🤗💪🏼

Lower Body: 6/29
Warm Up
- 5 min Dynamic Stretch Warmup
- 5 min Mini Band Glute Activation

12 x3
- DB Lateral lunge to Calf Raise
- DB 1 & 1/2 Sumo Squat
- DB S/L Deadlift (R & L)

10 x3
- DB Goblet Squat
- DB Walking Lunges
- BW Curtsy Lunges

Cardio:
- 15 Min Stair Climber (Alt. b/w Single & Skipping steps ever 2 mins + Last Minute Calf Burnout)
- 15 Min Elliptical on Interval Mode

Switching to Whole Food diets and cutting out those fast and easy food options is not only better for your overall health, but mental well being 😋 .
Processed foods are a dangerous game, but nobody is perfect! Working your hardest to eliminate those foods will grant you the opportunity to work on slimming down that pant line and get the full amount of nutrients your body needs to flourish 🧡💥.
How can you do this? Well, there’s a few ways! Stop DRINKING your calories, other than getting in those healthy protein shakes. Make a LIST and only buy what is ON that list!! Avoid picking up random snacks and foods in the store 🤔 MEAL PREP 1-2x a week to make it easier to whip out a healthy meal when you’re busy! And overall, cook your own food! and has some amazing healthy recipes you can follow 🤩 Now let’s claim our health back and start living life to its fullest!!! 🥳🥳🥳
