It’s a new year and many of us have goals that we have set for ourselves. To be healthier, eat better, exercise more, practice gratitude, earn a degree or certification, spend more time with family, etc. The list can go on and on. But, when working towards our goal becomes difficult or we have a setback. We sometimes have the tendency to lose focus on our goals and focus on our obstacles. There will always be times when life gets in the way or something unexpected came up. That’s life. How we handle those times is what makes the difference. We can make excuses or quit when it gets hard or we can figure out ways to overcome our obstacles to reach our goal. Keep pushing forward and take it one day at a time.

Truth... The struggle is real!!!! Week 10 is done of Lifts keep going up!!! So happy!!! 😄 Goal currently is to keep getting stronger. Add more lean and finally hit 225 lbs for squat and deadlift. Each day I get closer. Each day I get stronger. Each day I focus on what is important to me. Set a goal and work towards it. And this relates to anything in life. Work, school, family, relationships, etc.

It's been one of those days where everything seems to go wrong or irritates you. So what do I do? Put in some sweat equity in the gym. No better cure to a bad day then throwing around some heavy weight. Ready to head home and enjoy the rest of my night!! Studies show that exercise helps people handle stress better. Having a bad day, try exercising some to relieve stress. It's much better to take out any anger or aggression on some weights than to take it out on a person. I know it's easier said than done sometimes. But, by the time you get done exercising you'll probably feel better or can handle the situation better with a clearer head. Just remember exercise does a body good. 💪🏻

Rep test day for phase 2. Happy with my numbers. Squat 9 reps @ 145, Bench 8 reps @ 90, and deadlift 10 reps @ 150. Which means I'm moving on to phase 3. Can't wait!!! 😜 My goals have been to hit 225 # for both squat and deadlift not there yet, but I have managed to hit 225 # for so happy I'm able to throw 2 tires on each side. Hit 2x5 @ 225. Keep focused on your goals. You will get there if you keep working. 🍑
