Shane became well known for being the first licensed Recovery Residence in UT to offer Medical Cannabis to his clients, at first the recovery community thought he was the devil and would cause more harm than good. 7 years later, the proof is in the pudding! Dept of Corrections did a study in 2022, and a high risk chronic addict leaving prison who was released to Tribal House and treated with cannabis therapy (Med Card) was 2/3 LESS LIKELY TO BE DEAD 1 YEAR LATER FROM FENTANYL. Shane believes cannabis saves lives, Shane and his startup clinic EmpathetixWellness.com is responsible for helping more Utahn's gain access to cannabis medicine than any other clinic in the state. Shane has helped the indigent who could not pay, former gang bangers of all sects and backgrounds, Shane has embraced inmates with history of violence including murders who no other program in the state would accept. Shane and his right hand man Joshua Liberator would take anyone and everyone who was willing to turn their life over to the "Higher Power" of their understanding and commit to live clean and sober. Shane spent his own money, blood, sweat and energy to rehab a deteriorated former Polygamist Home in the hearty of Salt Lake to create a beautiful 27 bed licensed care facility. Shane is a big believer in Ketamine Therapy to deal with deep trauma and PTSD, shane's favorite part of the week was to personally lead the ketamine sessions as "master of ceremony" where he would preach such eternal truths as: You are a son of God! He loves you, He accepts you, no matter what you have done, God loves you right now, right as you sit here. You are accepted, you are loved, and you are forgiven by your Savior Jesus Christ. Shane connected with men of all backgrounds, faiths, including Muslim, Buddhist, Agnonstic, etc. Many "atheists" entered Shane's program only to leave with a hope and beginnings of belief, seeds of faith that maybe there is a loving Eternal Father in Heaven, creator of all things, and maybe he does indeed know and love ME! Shane poured everything he had into Tribal House from May 2025 through August 2025. He has decided to take a step back and focus his efforts on his other businesses that need him at this time, Shane is also committing to spend more quality time with his beloved with and his 5 children. Shane is confident that God will have him re-enter the addiction recovery world when the time and opportunity is right. Nothing can replace the joy and wonder of watching a broken and desperate man, find his way, accept God, and walk a righteous and fruitful path of sobriety. The feeling is greater than money or power or anything else (besides the Pure Love of Christ itself). Shane owes his life to his wife Amber, he commits before God that he will spend the rest of his life in gratitude and service to her for suffering through the living hell which was active addiction. Shane shutters at the thought of the powerlessness, fear, loneliness, and grief that she shouldered such burdens as the wife of an addict. Shane holds treasures and trophies the hundreds upon hundreds of photographs he took during this 7 year journey, the men he has met, the men who have touched him, the bonds of true friendship of suffering men who seek together the loving grace of a loving God. I marvel that God can use a man as imperfect and flawed as I am, to work such miracles and bless so many. The ripple effect of God's love is without end, I am humbled to have had the privilege to have been a blunt simple tool in the Master's hand. He is the great architect, He is the master sculptor and He is the omnipotent glorious healer of all hearts. Thank you Lord for your mercy and goodness, please continue to be with the suffering addict, as you are with me. Your willing servant in all things.
