Linda's Victory Over Cancer Support Page

Linda's Victory Over Cancer Support Page Thanks to all your support, we're happy to report that Linda Stay survived and is thriving after an a It is a near impossible task to accomplish by herself.

Linda Stay, our friend, wife, mother of 9, grand-mother of 7 & 1/2, sister and as she calls herself, “accidental activist,” is confronting the biggest challenge of her life. She's dealing with an aggressive and invasive breast cancer, covering the overwhelming ensuing medical expenses, and raising the money to get the care that will give her the best lifesaving outcome today as well as the best quality of life in the years to come. If you are fortunate to know anything about Linda it is probably that she seems fearless and passionate in everything she does, especially when it comes to standing up and lending her voice and might for those being treated unfairly. It’s not just her own children that call her the mama bear but also the thousands of individuals that feel like her adopted children because of the stand for equality and acceptance she has so willingly taken for them. Today, Linda could use you as a financial mama bear to help her get the best lifesaving treatments for the disease that has been challenging her life since January 2015. In March, Linda underwent a double Mastectomy and as a result of a previous extremely rare health issue, “Cushings Disease,” her immune system is severely weakened, creating complications from infection and making the healing process slower than normal. As a result of the generosity of family & friends, she was able to have immune building treatments that kept her strong enough to complete the intense 8 chemotherapy treatments that reduced the risk of the cancer coming back within the next 10 years to around 34%. It's critical that Linda continue a regimen of integrative treatments that are not covered by insurance or all available locally. They will further reduce the possible recurrence of cancer by rebuilding my immune system, which was already compromised by the Cushing's disease, and by repairing the organ and tissue damage caused by the chemo, drugs and pain medications. Because of her extremely high recurrence score and the large percentage of patients that have heart, blood & liver issues a few years after having the same chemo treatments it is important to stay aggressive with these protocols. These critical medical treatments and travel related cost come at a steep price. Her family’s resources were quickly exhausted with these additional expenses added to their regular living expenses and with her unable to contribute at the level she was previously because of her condition. We know that through the love and power of all of you who support and love Linda we can pick up the huge slack. Linda gives so much to all those around her, now it is our chance to give to her. Please donate what you can and spread the word to those you think would be able and willing to help. Cancer obviously had no idea who it was picking a fight with as Linda doesn’t give up easily. Last year she celebrated the 20th anniversary of a “three months left to live” diagnosis given to her in 1994. Linda is intent on getting well and has plans for the future. She knows her work in the world is not over, besides, she is adamant about celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary with Steve in 2051. She has been extremely pro-active in researching not only the best treatment options available and causes of the disease but what to do to prevent recurrence. The amazing attitude she has in facing this challenge continues to be an inspiration to all who are following her journey. As friends and family, we hope you will join us in helping Linda on her journey back to wellness by making a donation today and by sharing this site with a personal encouragement for others to do the same. Any amount is appreciated. Please help Linda embrace life to its fullest and continue to make a difference in the world. You can contribute at www.YouCaring.com/linda

So excited to re-connect with Dr Prasad and let him know that I feel "restored" like he promised I would when I first met him in February 2016.

As the creator of Maximum Micronutrient Formula he told me, when I asked if it would help with my chemo brain, "If you will continue to take 3, twice daily, I promise you will be restored and I'm not saying that based on my opinion, I'm saying that based on the human clinical trials we completed."

What you don't see in this pic are the tears of gratitude. I honestly owe this brilliant man and his formulation, my life... my quality of life, my joy, happiness, optimism, hope, cognitive function, energy. I am living again, not just surviving... an eternity of thank you's!

Wow, it's been almost 4 months since we've given an update.

I'm learning the hard way that I need to pace myself better and continue to stay focused on rebuilding my health. My life force and brain function continue to improve and the toughest part right now is seeing so many people close to me not doing so well. I love seeing my oncologist be surprised at how well I'm doing. ♡

We're feeling excited about the prospects of climbing out of the deep financial hole we've created these last 18 months getting my health back. It feels good to have a focus, other than just health, along with renewed hope for a bright future of doing a lot more of the things we love again. ♡♡♡ Care to join us??? :)

Fingers & toes crossed as we get closer to Linda's 9 month checkup on Thursday.

It's been an interesting couple months as I have baby stepped myself back into life. My biggest struggle has been energy (lack of), unreasonable fear and anxiety, and frustrating chemo brain.

However thanks to the support of what feels like a new miracle product I started a month ago, lots of patience and love, Bobby Edwards at Squatty Potty giving me a job, Equality Utah once again supporting my passion for the annual Equality Celebration, I am feeling more like myself everyday, full of HOPE and Passion.

At this time of rebirth, new life, I finally feel the life force is returning to me. I am more than grateful!

By the way, I got over 20,000 steps in the last two days. Woohoo! VICTORY dance time over here.
