You might think this is a little unusual…
but I’m genuinely looking forward to an eight-hour meditation tomorrow.

I’ve done it before, so I know what it offers — not eight hours of “trying,” but a day that includes meditation, chanting, inspirational readings, and simply being.

This year feels different though.

There’s a deeper readiness for stillness… and a real gratitude that I get to just participate and receive.

As we move toward the solstice and into a new moon, it feels like the perfect moment for this kind of pause.
A natural turning inward.
A chance to reflect, release, and listen more closely.

Not everyone is called to hours of meditation — and that’s okay.
But most of us could benefit from some quiet space this weekend.

That might look like:
✨ time alone
✨ journaling
✨ meditation
✨ prayer
✨ uplifting music
✨ being in nature
✨ or simply doing less

These thresholds — the end of a year, the shift of light, new beginnings — invite us to ask:

How do I want to move forward?
What do I want to nurture?
What’s ready to be released?

I’d love to know…
What kind of quiet or reflective time are you craving right now?

What intentions are beginning to form for you?

Joy to you 🌙

Walking along the San Francisco Bay today, I had one of those quiet “pause… I can’t believe this is happening” moments. 🌊

I was heading in to get a National Parks Pass and realized…
I was about to ask for the senior one.

I’ll admit — I hesitated for a second.
I don’t feel like a senior.

But there I was.
I asked.
The ranger did a double take.
I showed my ID.
And she happily handed me the card. 😊

It made me reflect on something I’ve known for a long time:
Longevity isn’t about denying age — it’s about how we live inside it.

For me, it’s a blend of the ancient and the modern:
✨ yoga and movement
✨ being outdoors
✨ nourishment and connection
✨ supplements — including natural peptides
✨ staying curious, engaged, and joyful

I’m grateful for all the years…
and for feeling strong, present, and alive inside them.

Are you feeling your age?

Joy to you 🌸

Could I ask for anything more?

A perfect evening in Japan —
soft lights reflecting on the water,
a quiet stream nearby,
freshly made buckwheat noodles (naturally gluten-free),
warm lemon-ginger squash to sip,
and the simple joy of sharing it all with my husband. 🇯🇵✨

We’d been walking all day and still had a walk home ahead of us.
The meal was nourishing, beautifully prepared, satisfying — without feeling heavy.
A variety of flavors, just the right portions, and eaten outdoors in the cool evening air.

Moments like this remind me what longevity really looks like in real life:
✨ good company
✨ movement built naturally into the day
✨ fresh, wholesome food
✨ being outside
✨ savoring instead of rushing
✨ stopping before overeating
✨ presence, gratitude, connection

Japan has such a beautiful way of weaving all of this together so effortlessly.
Not about restriction — but about attention.

Honestly… could I ask for anything more?

Joy to you 🌸

If you aren’t having fun, well you aren’t having fun! Paramhansa Yogananda said a sad Saint is indeed a sad Saint!

Make the minutes in your day count. Cultivate joy now and for the future. Put together a savings account full of joy so that on those tough days (and they always come), you can rely on your stores of joy savings. Even if it’s quiet and thoughtful for the circumstances.

I often don’t even tell people that I “teach yoga”. Why? It doesn’t necessarily fit most people’s definition of yoga.

It borrows from deep ancient roots and yes, Yogananda’s teachings. It is linked to current longevity science.

And we have fun, even though most of the time we are thoughtful and quiet. Underneath is heartfelt connection and joy.

Here’s a tip - if you are hiking especially up hills stop and do a little yoga. You might be surprised how can boost your energy and joy - make those hills a little more fun!

And bring a smile to your face.🥰

Do you have a joy savings account?

Walking through the fall colors here at Lake Yamanaka — the park is called The River of Emotions, and it truly feels like that. 🍁✨

The reds, golds, and oranges… the quiet air… the stillness before the day begins.
Being outdoors is one of the simplest ways to support your health and longevity. It lifts your mood, calms your nervous system, and reconnects you back to yourself. 🌿

Some days I love being out in nature by myself — it feels grounding, centering, peaceful.
Other days I love sharing it with someone — the joy of saying, “Look at this… isn’t it beautiful?”

Both have their own health benefits.
Both support your Live. Longer. Happier. lifestyle in such meaningful ways.

I’d love to know…
Do you enjoy being in nature alone?
Or with others?
Or both, like me?

Joy to you 🌸

Not sure if this is TMI… but let’s talk about hydration — and what actually works in real life. 😅💧

We all know we need to drink water.
But sometimes the more we drink, the more we’re running to find a bathroom… and that can make it hard to stay consistently hydrated.

And while Japan has some of the best bathrooms I’ve ever seen… you still need to get there on time! 🇯🇵✨

Here’s what helped me stay hydrated on this whole trip — without feeling like I had to interrupt the day constantly:

🌿 I front-load my hydration.
First thing in the morning, I drink two cups of warm water with lemon or tangerine essential oil. It’s so gentle, clearing, and cleansing.

💧 Then I add electrolytes + peptides.
Every morning on this trip, I mixed:
• FIT
• Energized
• Hydrated (electrolytes plus a lot more goodness)

This combination helped the water absorb instead of just going straight through — and kept me feeling balanced through long travel days, hikes, trains, and jet lag.

These small steps really do add up… especially when you’re far from home.

If you want more of my favorite hydration tips (including how to avoid constant bathroom trips!), just ask below.
I’m happy to share what works. 💛

Joy to you 🌸

Everywhere we went in Japan…
I found a little moment for 2-Minute Yoga. 🇯🇵✨

On the plane.
In the bullet train.
Before an 8-mile hike around Lake Kawaguchi.
In the Imperial Palace gardens surrounded by glowing fall leaves.
At temples built for rest and reflection.
Even inside the TeamLab light installation in Tokyo.

Just two minutes at a time — whenever I could — and it made the entire journey feel easier, calmer, and so much more energizing.

That’s the thing about longevity and wellness…
It’s not the big routines that change us.
It’s the tiny choices we make over and over again.
The simple practices we can do anywhere.
The moments we give back to ourselves.

And honestly?
Those two-minute pauses helped my body stay balanced during long travel days, time-zone shifts, stairs, trains, and all the walking we did.

🌿 Small steps create big impact.
Especially when you’re far from home.

I’d love to know —
💬 What’s your go-to “tiny” wellness habit when you travel?

Joy to you, from Japan 🌸

Haha! 😂 Yes, I will do 2 Minute Yoga just about anywhere! 🧘🏽‍♀️

To be fair, this temple hall in the Komatsucho area in Kyoto (right by the house we are staying in) has not been in use for 700 years.

It was renovated and opened last year. They advertise to come in and lie down on the tatami mats, relax and look at the White Dragon mural above.

You are also encouraged to take photos which people were doing in earnest!

So we lied down for awhile. Then I asked my husband to film a 2 Minute Yoga.

I can’t stress enough how good doing just that little bit of yoga felt!

I know when you travel or even are out and about around home, you can’t always just lie down on the floor and practice.

Standing or sitting 2 Minute Yoga can be just as rejuvenating.

And yes, I am talking about my sleep a lot these days.

First because I am finally getting pretty good about having a regular sleep schedule - when while traveling!🙌

Though it doesn’t always feel like it. 🤔

So I got an Oura Ring. And I guess my body got confused all those years of burning the midnight oil and it’s having trouble getting Deep Sleep. REM is borderline ok, but not great.

So I do my yoga, supplements and oils. It all helps.

My awareness of my sleep cycles coincides with the release of a revolutionary new all natural, non-drowsy sleep peptide capsule that is called Restored.

I ordered mine yesterday with a new release Black Friday sale. I will let you know what my Oura Ring says — but more importantly how I feel! Let me know if you want to try this with me.

Gotta run get in bed now and be ready for another full day of sightseeing!

I do have some 2 Minute Yoga videos to share, but thought you might like this one first! 🧘🏽‍♂️

You know it’s fresh when they serve you the raw ingredients and instructions. 🍵

It actually takes some arm muscle to make it properly and create the foam. I spoke with a gal at one of the local, busy coffee shops here near our place in Kyoto. 🥤☕️

She flexed her muscles to point out how strong she gets making matcha all day!💪

She was making it not only for hot and cold matcha and lattes but also a drink with matcha tea ice cream!

The matcha has a more refined and delicate taste than what I am used to in the U.S. 🥰

We are also finding some other teas we really like here too. 😋

Cheers to a warm cup of tea! ☕️☕️

How do you like your matcha?

We are having such a wonderful time in Japan! I haven’t been able to keep up with the posting.

The first picture was from a very old traditional restaurant with floor seating - they did have these low stools for us “old folks” to sit more comfortably. Most of the dishes had whale or eel. I tried to order Ala cart and get vegetarian dishes but most still had fish I them. Coming to Japan I knew that it might be challenging in places to get gluten free vegetarian food in the restaurants (never mind vegan). So I told myself before we left that I would be ok if I ended up eating some fish. Good thing!

Shrines and temples are very popular tourist attractions here. Most museums and their gardens usually less so.

Apparently tourism during the fall colors is as big as the cherry blossom time. We are missing peak colors and peak wi there blooms for flowers like the camellias. Still it’s all quite beautiful!

We have a new fav type of drink - fruit drinks such as yuzu ( a citrus) squash. Squash refers to the fruit being smashed. They come warm and cold.

We’ve been in Japan for a week now — wandering temples and taking long walks through the parks filled with bright fall foliage… glowing reds, oranges, and yellows. 🍁

I went upstairs to the bedroom to set my CALM beside the bed because I didn’t want to forget to take it… and I had a moment of realization:
I’ve always been a good sleeper… but for years I’ve burned the candle at both ends.

Now my body doesn’t always drop into deep, restorative sleep the way it used to.
So I finally ordered an Oura Ring to get the data — and wow.

🟣 My REM is low.
🟣 My Deep Sleep is very low.
(If I mix my words up in this video… now you know why! 😂)

And here’s what I’ve noticed while traveling:
When I forget to take my CALM before bed…

➡️ My deep sleep almost disappears.
➡️ My brain feels foggy the next day.
➡️ My body knows something’s missing.

So tonight, I won’t forget it.

And honestly?
I’m counting the days until I get home, because waiting for me is a brand-new natural sleep peptide — designed to support both REM and Deep Sleep.

People are already telling me how deeply it restores them… and I can’t wait to try it myself.

If restorative sleep is something you’ve been craving too, you’re welcome to explore it with me. The details are in my link in bio.

And tell me below —
💬 What helps you sleep well when traveling?

Joy to you, from Kyoto 🌸
