Q: Is the pressure inside the OR suite is greater than, less than, or equal to the pressure in the surrounding corridor?
A: The pressure inside the operative suite is greater than the pressure in the surrounding corridor. The positive pressure keeps microbes from the rest of the hospital from coming into the OR suite.

Q: I would like to know how to be eligible to take the CNOR certification. I have OR experience but that was 3 years ago.

A: You'll have enough time in the OR to sit for the certification but you need also to be currently employed in Perioperative Services to be eligible. Once you're hired anywhere that has a backtable you'll be ready to go. This includes L&D, interventional radiology or Cath Lab.

When you position a supine patient's arm so the palm is up, what nerve are you protecting?

The ulnar nerve is protected when you position the hand palms up or thumbs up. If you position the patient palms down, the ulnar nerve is resting against the bed.
