Christmas Eve is a day filled with anticipation, warmth, and the closeness of family. It’s a time when we pause to reflect on the gifts we’ve been given, and today, my greatest gift has been the opportunity to serve this incredible community.

For over 25 years as a nurse and more than a decade in maternal care, I have had the profound privilege of witnessing the strength and love of mothers. Starting Lotus Lactation was a dream born out of a desire to support that journey, and I am just overflowing with gratitude for the people of Pensacola.

To the families who have welcomed me into their lives, to everyone who has recommended my services to a friend, and to every parent who has simply reached out with a question—thank you.

Both can be true.

Breastfeeding tip: If feeds feel uncomfortable, try bringing baby to your breast instead of leaning down to baby. A small position change can make a big difference with latch and comfort.

There’s a lot of advice out there about breastfeeding, but not all of it is accurate. 💕

Here are a few common myths I hear often and the truth behind them:

🌸 Myth: Pain is normal when breastfeeding.
Truth: Some tenderness can happen in the early days, but ongoing pain means something needs adjusting. Comfort is always the goal.

🌼 Myth: You need to supplement with formula if your baby feeds often.
Truth: Frequent feeding is normal and helps establish your milk supply. Babies nurse for nourishment, comfort, and connection.

💧 Myth: You need to drink milk to make milk.
Truth: Staying hydrated is what matters most. Water and balanced nutrition support your body best.
