"My elderly mother has a difficult diet. These are not restrictions posed by her doctor, rather things she came up with on her own. For a little background, mom had breast cancer about three years ago. To the best of our knowledge, she is free and clear right now. Mom is 85 years old at this point, and I am not sure what her goal is. She says that she does not want to die from cancer and she is doing everything she can to prevent that. We have no idea how to cook for her since her diet has changed so much. We could use a little help here."

"I was wondering how you know when it is safe to leave someone that you are caring for alone. You see, my 90-year-old father who lives alone falls sometimes. I would say that he fell three times in the last year. None of his falls are out of the ordinary. I think his falls could happen to any of us. What I worry about is that he is 90 and could be lying on the floor until I stop by the next day. He is also more likely to break his hip than I am. So, my question is, what is the best option for his situation?"

One reader asked, and we answered in this week’s Caregiver Column. Click the link to read. https://horizonhomecareandhospice.org/blog/post/how-many-falls-is-too-many
