✨ I’m putting down the weighted vest… for now, maybe for good.
I’ve had countless conversations with clients about the pros + cons of weighted vests, and here are my honest thoughts & experiences ⬇
🚫 The problem with the Amazon vest:
Sure, the price is great… but the neck + back strain won’t be worth the PT bills later. Most designs pull the shoulders forward, which many women already struggle with.
⚠ “But it helps my posture…”
Watch for rib flare (extra pain + pelvic floor stress). It’s nearly impossible to stay in perfect alignment on a long walk.
💬 My experience:
10-min workout = back pain flare
20-min walk = hip tightness + compression
Not worth it for me.
🔥 The benefit:
Yes, it raises heart rate and makes a walk more strenuous. But it should never replace lifting heavy things. Think of it as a bonus tool.
✅ If you do it, my rules:
– Stick to 8–12 lbs (heavier isn’t better)
– Choose a vest that hugs your midsection
– Start small, add time gradually
– Keep ribs stacked over hips + shoulders back
