You bring your baby to your chest, close your eyes, and take a deep breath as you settle into this feeding. Moments later as your body relaxes you notice your baby's body is more relaxed too.

The two of you are in sync. The biofeedback goes beyond nutrition and includes co-regulating our nervous systems!

This is why a common reminder in the parenting/lactation world is that nursing isn't just about the feeding or hydration, it's also about comfort and reconnection.

Hi Parents, can I talk to you for a moment?

I know you’ve got a million thoughts swirling around your head, wondering if you’re doing everything right. It doesn’t matter if this is your first baby or 10th, there will always be some level of doubt and questioning because this stage can be so difficult.

But I want to remind you that you’re doing an AMAZING JOB! You’re learning how to communicate with a brand new person and building the foundation to your relationship. You are the BEST parent for your baby!

One of the things I’m most conscious of while in the birth space is my physical presence, my energy, and even my gaze as I’m documenting. I’ll often find ways to give you some space while still observing and supporting you through the laboring process.

I know that might seem a little silly since y’all are PAYING ME to be present and document those moments but that primal space is sacred regardless of where or how you plan on giving birth so it’s finding the right balance is crucial!

Partners I know you're nervous for labor too. What if you didn't prepare enough? Will you remember how to do a hip squeeze? WTF is a peanut ball?!

Take a deep breath and let those worries fade away.

You'll know what playlist to turn on, who to call for moral support, how to make them laugh, but most importantly you'll know exactly how they'll need to be LOVED during labor.

“Where have you been?! You’ve ghosted your socials, are you still accepting
clients? What’s going on?” Yes, I’m still here and I’ve been supporting clients this whole time! To prove it- here’s a selfie from the birth I was so privileged to attend a few short weeks ago and my availability for the rest of the year (whoa, how did that happen?!)

If you’d like to stick around here’s a bit of a life update…

We got sick in early December, so I gave myself permission to take a social media break for a few days. The goal was to catch up on ALL THE THINGS- since being sick smack dab in the middle of our holiday and birthday season wasn’t much fun for any of us. That break snowballed as it was the easiest thing to forget about.

It was a difficult season of life in general and who knew adjusting to parenting a teenager and two pre-teens would call for such a transition period (again, how did that happen?!). I’ll be sharing more often, I’ve got some exciting plans coming up too!
