A family recently shared a product at a session that was new to me. Featuring a mirror, visual aids for correct articulation placement of speech sounds, and a visual representation to support phonological awareness, this product is highly beneficial for traveling speech-language pathologists and parents who support children's speech and phonemic awareness development.

Does your autistic child love to repeat parts of stories or lines from a favorite movie? Does your child have a special attachment to these lines and use them to get meaning across to others? If you said “yes”, they might be a gestalt language processor( GLP). This is an alternative way a child can learn language. Instead of learning language word by word, these kids learn language in chunks to start. Get in touch with a speech language pathologist who is trained in supporting this learning style.
