Bonnie’s Bounce Back

Bonnie came to Lakehouse Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center after a hospitalization related to a neurological condition that caused a decline in mobility, frequent falls, and difficulty swallowing. Determined to regain her strength and independence, she committed herself fully to her 6-week rehab journey.

With the help of her therapy team, Bonnie worked on strengthening, balance, ADLs, gait training, and improving her swallow function. She progressed from requiring significant assistance with transfers, walking, and dressing, and struggling with normal diet textures, to achieving all her mobility goals independently with a FWW, completing ADLs with supervision, and safely tolerating a regular diet.

Bonnie’s bright smile, strong work ethic, and positive attitude made her a joy to work with and undoubtedly contributed to her incredible progress.

When asked what she was most excited for when returning home, she didn’t hesitate: “My husband’s tacos!”

Amazing job, Bonnie!
