🐾 7 Tips to Help Your Pet Stay Calm This 4th of July
Fireworks can be terrifying for many pets—but a little preparation goes a long way. Here are some helpful ways to support your furry friend:
1️⃣ Skip the Fireworks Displays
If you know your pet is anxious around loud noises, it’s best to keep them home where they feel safe.
2️⃣ Create a Cozy, Safe Space
Let your pet hide under the bed, in a crate, or in their favorite corner—don’t force them out. Safe spaces help them self-soothe.
3️⃣ Feed Early & Distract
Give dinner before the fireworks start. Keep a special chew, toy, or treat handy to redirect their focus.
4️⃣ Secure Identification
Double check that your pet’s collar has current tags. Microchipping is also a smart backup in case they bolt.
5️⃣ Add Background Noise
Turn on calming music, white noise, or the TV to help mask loud bangs from outside.
6️⃣ Use Calming Tools
Thundershirts, anxiety wraps, and calming essential oil blends in a diffuser can help soothe your pet naturally. Try oils like Lavender, Cedarwood, Frankincense, or Copaiba (use doTERRA for safe, tested oils).
7️⃣ Stay Calm & Don't Over-Reassure
If they act anxious, try not to coddle or fuss—it can reinforce the fear. Stay calm and redirect with play, petting, or distractions.

✨ Note: Not all oils are safe for pets. Only use pure, tested essential oils like those from doTERRA, and always diffuse in a well-ventilated area your pet can leave if they choose.
