Please help with this food drive if you can!

If you are unable to, please remember your local food shelf when you venture to the grocery store yourself. Many people are going hungry and need our help. Thank you!

Stay safe! Stay well!

**UPDATE** We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our community and we no longer need food donations at Minnehaha Commons. If you are planning on dropping off, please drop off at a food shelf: https://www.foodpantries.org/ci/mn-minneapolis **

Residents at our Minnehaha Commons program are safe despite being near the fires and looting on Lake Street last night. We have an immediate need of food for residents at Minnehaha Commons. We need your help! Residents rely on nearby food shelves which are now closed. Local grocery stores are also closed from the damage and fires. We are having a food drive tomorrow, May 29th from 3 to 6 p.m. at Minnehaha Commons (3001 E Lake St, Minneapolis 55406). Touchstone staff will be at the front door to accept donations. Residents need peanut butter, bread, cold cuts, cheese slices, crackers, canned soup or stew, canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned fish, canned beans, pasta and sauce, rice, and toilet paper.

Got some popcorn and not sure what to watch? Check out our Virtual Cinema!

A few cinema distributors have created "Virtual Screenings" of some independent films we might typically show. You are able to watch these films at home, and it provides economic support for independent theaters like the Riverview. By using the links we provide, you will be supporting us. For each film you rent, a percentage of the cost will go directly to the Riverview.

If you are interested in supporting us during these hard times while watching great cinema, here’s your chance!

Visit www.riverviewtheater.com/show/show/2791 for a list of films we are currently offering.

Dear Sundara Kamala Bodywork Community,

Due to the pandemic facing our nation and the world, I am suspending my session schedule. Even though I use the best practices of infection control with every session, the requirement of social distancing cannot be met with in a massage/bodywork session. Continuing to provide bodywork would go against my mission to practice and preserve the teachings of the Thai healing arts. Your health and safety is of utmost importance.

During this time, if you are able, please:

Take time for yourself.
Keep up to date, but occasionally, disconnect from the noise of our technology.
Find a way to help another; whether it is someone in your family, a neighbor, or a stranger. Generosity and compassion are healthful to others as well as ourselves.

May you all stay healthy and I look forward to seeing you in what I hope is the near future.

Walkers and Bikers - the 28th Ave Bridge is Open for You!

From the City of Minneapolis Government:

Work on the 28th Ave Bridge replacement has been halted for the winter until weather conditions permit construction to resume. Beam placement and sewer work continued through December 2019 the work site is now shut down for the winter. Work is expected to resume in the Spring of 2020.

A temporary pedestrian and bike crossing has been installed for use during the winter until construction on the project can restart. Crews will ensure that the crossing, which includes rails, traffic control and temporary lighting, is clear of snow during this time.

Construction of the bridge is anticipated to get back underway in the Spring of 2020 and the road is expected to be reopened by Mid-June 2020.
