Are eggs good for you or not?

Wondering what to do with your Easter eggs? Eat them! The Dietary Guidelines for Americans dropped the restriction on eggs in 2015. Eggs are a part of a healthy diet, especially for breakfast. They add significantly to your protein intake.

Have you tried intermittent fasting? There are many ways, such as fasting entire days, alternate day fasting, or limiting food consumption to a certain time frame during the day. It is possible to lose weight with these patterns, but studies show that the results are not statistically significant compared to more traditional methods. Meet Karen Holtmeier, MPH, RD, LN

Karen B. Holtmeier, M.P.H., is a registered dietitian and a licensed nutritionist. She is director of medical nutrition therapy and co-founder and owner of Medical Weight Management Centers as well as a nationally recognized leader in obesity and weight management treatment.

Medical Weight Management Centers, established in 1997, is a medical clinic that specializes in personal weight management in Minneapolis/St. Paul and the surrounding areas of Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Ms. Holtmeier earned a master’s degree in public health nutrition and administration as well as a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics from the University of Minnesota.

She has more than 35 years of experience in the areas of weight reduction, diabetes treatment, health promotion, cholesterol education, sports nutrition and eating disorders.
