*ASL version coming soon*
Hello everyone, it has been awhile since this page posted. I’d like to officially introduce myself as a mental health clinician.
I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I’m Deaf, I am bilingual in American Sign Language and English. I attended both deaf charter school and mainstream school. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in art from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
I received my Masters of Professional Studies in Integrated Behavioral Health from the University of Minnesota College of Continuing and Professional Studies in May 2024. I completed my clinical internship at the Adult Lodging Plus (inpatient treatment) at M Health Fairview from May 2023 to January 2024. I observed different hospital units including the emergency department, medical detoxification, suboxone clinic and outpatient assessment center.
I worked primarily with men age 18+ with various cultural backgrounds and languages.
My clinical interests include:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Personality disorders
- Daily life stressors
- Adjustment/change
- Existential questions
- Self esteem
- Role & identity
- Ambiguous grief
- Trauma
Beyond the evidence-based practices (EBP), my counseling approaches include: somatic experiencing, talking through the bodily experience of eastern medicine (ex: acupuncture), trauma informed care, mindfulness and narrative therapy. I plan to get certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Brainspotting. My counseling practices will continue to evolve to remain up to date with latest research findings, peer consultation and development of new, effective practices.
As a therapist, I believe the client is the expert in their own life. I serve as a co-collaborator by holding the safe space and sit with you through your healing process. I enjoy discussing difficult existential questions. I don’t shy away from the topic of unknown, the meaning of life, multiple truths, and existential dread. As a therapist, I will not be a “blank state”. I will show up as authentically myself and self-disclose when it has therapeutic benefits for you.
I serve Deaf/HH, CODA, American Sign Language interpreters, late deafened teen and adults, parents of Deaf/HH children, and loved ones of individuals in the ASL community.
My licensure track is LPCC. In about two years, I will be eligible to serve clients nationwide (30+ states) under the Counseling Compact.
When you are ready, I will be privileged and honored to serve you in Minnesota.✨
