Today we honor all cesarean births and the parents who experienced them.

We also acknowledge that Black birthing people are disproportionately impacted by cesarean births and postpartum complications, highlighting the ongoing need for respectful, equitable care.

Celebrating strength and advocating for change can and should exist together.

My response was what happened you got the epidural - Momma “no but I did get some pain meds” and we laughed. A couple hours later you arrived. Comfort Tools for Labor is generously hosted by Terry Wong, a public health doula and ACTT Facilitator. The session is open to birthing people, partners, and support persons, with a particular invitation to Black birthing people who may be interested in learning more about the Recognizing Obstetric Outcomes Through Safety (ROOTS) Study led by Lauren Morrison, M.A.

Nov. 16-22 is Infant Safe Sleep Week in Minnesota. Did you know the safest sleep position for babies is on their back because there is a lower risk of choking from spitting up, aspiration, and accidental suffocation? This is true for all babies, including preterm babies, until they are one year old. Babies should sleep on a firm, flat, and leveled surface, such as a mattress in a safety-approved crib, that is free of people and pets, and loose and soft items like toys, crib bumpers, and blankets.
