As summer comes to an end, our residents have been spending peaceful afternoons out on the water.
Calm waters, beautiful weather, and great company have made for the perfect sendoff to the season. We are grateful for days like these.

Our residents have been talking a lot about the issues that matter most to them. This week, many sat down to write letters to their elected officials, sharing their stories and calling for change.

It’s a reminder that no matter our age, our voices matter, and they can still make a difference!

Wellness Wednesday! ✨
Maureen Erickson has been volunteering with Episcopal Homes since 2022 as a Life Enhancement Assistant, Es**rt and Activity Leader. She says, "I've worked with seniors in many different ways over the years, both before and after I retired. I've been part of socialization programs, provided transportation, taken part in home visits, led craft projects, games and activities. I have been volunteering at Katy's Cottage one afternoon a week for 3-1/2 years."

"I believe seniors have a wealth of life stories and experiences to continue sharing with others, and I've learned how important it is to keep minds active while supporting and caring for them. I always feel like my afternoon shared with the residents is a success if we can tell stories, share memories and laugh together! I often feel that I'm the one who benefits most!"

Pat Mahre from Cornelia House wasted no time at the Minnesota State Fair! Right off the bus, she was ready for the Thunderbird ride! No fear, just excitement. “I LOVE heights!” she said, taking in the stunning view from the top.And what a view it was! Pat even spotted her old house from up there! Pat’s energy was contagious, and we’re so glad she got to enjoy the fair her way—sky high above it all! 🎡
