Bonnie Driggs knows our Episcopal Homes community well. She is a retired nurse with experience in memory care, long-term care, and adult day programs. In 2017 she started as a volunteer with Episcopal Homes as an empty nester and donated her time with our Kinder Village childcare. In March of 2020 during the Women's March in the Twin Cities, she witnessed Episcopal Homes residents on University Avenue with their signs boasting "Democracy Now" and she said then and there, to her husband John, "if the time comes and we need to move, this is where I want to live!" So, she called Episcopal Homes, and they got on the wait list.
Bonnie and John moved in August 2023. And Bonnie restarted her volunteer service too. Bonnie has volunteered with bingo at Iris Park Commons, escorted Gardens residents to exercise classes, and reads to Katy's Cottage residents. You can see her at many of the campus events helping residents come and enjoy the festivities. Bonnie also helps serve and host at the Terrace Grille for the holidays. In addition to her active volunteer schedule, she is an avid quilter and sews beautiful blankets and wall coverings all by hand! We are so very fortunate to have Bonnie as a volunteer and neighbor at Episcopal Homes. She is really a wonderful spokesperson too!
