Today’s card is “Captive” from The Native American Tarot Deck. If a Native American lost a child, he sometimes replaced that child with another taken on a raid and raised him or her as his own. When ranchers settled on their lands, there was little to stop the Native Americans from raiding them for horses, cattle or even children. Once the child had been adopted into the family accepting their way of life as their own, they were treated the same as any child born to the tribe. As adults, many went on living happily with their adopted tribe, they found they had more freedom with their old captors than living the white man’s ways if they returned. Some did return and some regretted their decision.
You have been feeling trapped of late, held Captive in a world partly of your own making, partly with what is going on worldwide. Your life has become out of balance, leaving you feeling stuck at the bottom of a rut. You have stubbornly held on to your old beliefs which once served you well, time has raced by and the world has changed, you need to review your ideas, make some changes upgrade where needed. I am not saying that you need to change everything, that is not possible in the curate climate, but somethings need to change to help you get back in balance again. Once you are in balance the ruts will not seem so deep and before long you will feel better about things. Only you can do something about bringing back your personal balance, you can make changes to have some happiness back in your life regardless of what’s going on in the rest of the world. Be happy and ready for the changes when they comes.
