🌟Patient Success Story🌟
Jess arrived at Careview after completing approximately one month of therapy at an inpatient rehabilitation facility. Although she had made progress, she was not yet ready to safely return home. Following an unsuccessful discharge attempt to a group home, Jess returned to the hospital and shortly thereafter joined us at Careview.
Jess had many challenges ahead of her, but she approached each one with unwavering motivation and determination. Being miles away from her husband was difficult, but she was surrounded by the loving support of her parents, who lived nearby and were able to be actively involved in her journey.
From the moment Jess arrived, PT, OT, and ST worked closely together to develop the best treatment approach to help her return home and resume living her best life with her husband and beloved dog, Cinnamon. Throughout her stay, there were ups, downs, and obstacles to overcome, but Jess’s hard work and positive attitude never wavered.
After several trials with her prosthetic and ongoing fit issues, Jess decided she wanted to focus on learning how to safely function without it for the time being, with plans to revisit prosthetic use in the future. Therapy immediately shifted toward maximizing her independence with alternative mobility and transfer techniques. Jess worked tirelessly on scoot transfers between her bed and wheelchair, as well as stand-pivot transfers on and off the toilet.
By the time Jess discharged after two months at Careview, she had made tremendous progress and was completing the majority of her transfers independently. Her perseverance, determination, and willingness to adapt allowed her to regain confidence and move one step closer to returning home. Jess told us “I will never forget what you guys did for me, you saved my life”
Jess, thank you for letting Careview care for you! 🩵
